Need some inspiration here. Looking for what to do with display cards for pendants. What do you do with all the extra cord or chain on the backs? Maybe there's a better route to go with this? My plan was to have the name of the rock etc on the front, then a short description and price on the back. Thoughts? Pictures would really help... Thanks!

Can you wrap up the cord and maybe use a small rubber band to hold it together?

I've seen where they put the cord in a baggie (sealed half way) and tape it to the back.

Show the back, and include the entire cord. Thanks.

Show the back, and include the entire cord. Thanks. Sure - like this? I was going to write a little description on the back and a price so wanted to keep the cord out of the way... Can you wrap up the cord and maybe use a small rubber band to hold it together? I like that... May need to try and give that a shot. I've seen where they put the cord in a baggie (sealed half way) and tape it to the back. I do have a few little bags to experiment with. I was trying to stay away from another extra thing (keeping it minimal) but may need to see what it looks like.

I wish I had some advice...or thoughts...but everything I'm picturing would seem "bulky" in the back. I like the looks of those cards though...

I have played around with the same issue. I’ve seen people fold the cord/chain and either tape it to the back or put it in an envelope that’s stuck to the back. I don’t like the idea of tape directly on the cord because it might leave a sticky residue. Maybe that’d be ok if the cord had a small paper wrap around it first that the tape stuck to. The envelope thing, you’re right, it’s an extra thing to buy or make. I think probably simpler is better. People are likely not going to store this pendant on the card. Hopefully they will keep the card for info but really I think you just need the cord contained temporarily for display and selling and also easy and hassle free for the customer to remove. I’d say play around with some coils or folds and see if you can get that neatly tucked and attached simply, maybe tape (?) as long as it’s not damaging.

Could you just coil them around each other and slap a piece of tape on it? Or will they be taking it off to try it on? Not exactly this, but you get the point...

My thought would be locate a supplier for the thin black wire wrap that manufactures use for bundling electrical cords on computers, etc. It is kind of a neat version of what is used on some bread wrappers. You could coil up the cord and secure it with the tie.

Stick the bread tie through those two holes before you cinch up “the mess” behind the card.

Where are you displaying them? If in a display in a shop till they sell, pretty much anything mentioned works. If at shows, I like the little zipper bag taped to the back because you can store it in the bag with card attached between shows

So being easy to transport and get ready to display would be nice. I'll see if I can try that out

Let me ask this... How big of a selling point is having a cord along with the pendant? My whole focus is polishing rocks, I'm not planning to spend a lot of time finding fancy cords. So would attaching the pendant to the card with a piece or ribbon or twine look ok? liveoak maybe that's exactly what you were saying? I took it to mean attach the extra cord on the back with a ribbon but now I'm rethinking your suggestion.

I have to admit that I did mean to use it to tie the cord up in the back, using it instead of the baggie tie (or similar) idea.
However, now that you say about using the ribbon to hold the pendant itself, that would work.
Although, personally I think that a pendant should be sold with some kind of cord, for a couple of reasons.
First, at a show, the buyer might just put the pendant on & act as an advertisement for you.
Very often, at a show, a pendant is likely an impulse buy, and that way they could wear it right away.
Second, many jewelry is purchased as a gift item & no cord makes it incomplete.
Third- I think it's a selling point that it's "ready to go", gift or not.
So with that in mind, my thinking would be instead of having to deal with the mess on the card, why not have the cords as a separate add on that's free or pretty cheap. Even have them in a couple of different colors.
Then the cords would just be in a separate box & you don't have to fuss with them.
I think I've seen other people have mentioned doing just that.
That's my take, Patty

You could sell the pendant alone. You could also have a stash of cords of various lengths to sell separately. Include the price of the cord in the price of the pendant. Customer selects cord length.

I display some pendants on jewelry cards with a short cord/ribbon. Have neck chains and longer cords available for purchase.
For inexpensive, costume jewelry, I tape a small zip bag on the back. There is room under it to write information.
Will try to get some photos tomorrow.
