These look great! Are you planning on tumbling them? Or treat them as specimens? Thanks!! Great question. I actually just came inside from looking at all of them again...one by one! LOL - I think I'm going to try and get some slabettes out of some of them...some I'll tumble most likely...a couple I might just take to the wheels and see if I can polish them that way... RIGHT!?!? LOL I think I said that a few more times tonight when I was looking them over! You lucky dog. Pretty amazing. Thanks Chris! You ain't just whistlin' Dixie on that one! LOL Totally lucky...and will readily admit that one! LOL Thanks Dillon!! My wife already knows I'm going to be on the saw tomorrow morning! I asked her what her plans were for tomorrow morning...but I made the mistake of asking her while I was looking at the Fairburns...so I didn't hear a word she said...and I'm too leery to ask again! LOL

Pretty awesome jasoninsd. I think I know how you feel, I just swept an estate sale with biggs and morrisonite at $3/lb! I'm waiting for cabs. At your rate, they should be ready by tomorrow morning.

Impressive! Those are going to be all kinds of fun. Thanks my friend! Slabbing them was a blast this morning! I only cut a handful. I took a break, and by the time I got back out there, it was near 100 degrees...which kinda took the wind outta my sails for cutting! LOL

jasoninsd . Glad you had some time to saw. Now you’ll have a good reason to get the tumbler going again. I’m sure you’ll have some scraps but I’m guessing most of the Fairburns will be cabs or specimens. I’m definitely looking forward to more photos. I think you’ve been looking for a reason to start tumbling again anyway. That way you can work on rocks while you’re at work.

LOL I have about 3 gallons of Bubble Gum Agates...I could add some of these Fairburns to the mix!

Awesome unexpected haul. It seems like you've always been very generous with your rocks now it's getting repaid! Looking forward to seeing these some more down the line.

Wowzers! jasoninsd Some really nice looking rocks there and I bet you'll get some nice little slabs/cabs out of those! I'm curious - you said something about Teepee Canyon and fortification going all the way through - what do you mean by that? Does that mean the 'design' is throughout the rock? I've seen this referenced before and never understood what it meant Thanks!!

I've seen this referenced before and never understood what it meant Thanks!! Thanks Peta! I have no idea why this example comes to mind...but it did! LOL Think of a corn dog. The breading is the "host rock"...while the hot dog is the fortification area. Sometimes, the hot dog is only 1/2" long...and then you get mostly breading. Other times, the hot dog is almost as long as the breading...the same way the fortification goes "all the way through" the host rock. Now I want a dang corn dog...with mustard! LOL PS...I haven't forgotten! (Well...technically I DID forget when I had the time to do it...but then remembered when I couldn't get to it...but I will !!) Dude those are awesome!!!!! Right up your alley. RIGHT!!??!! I was going to sit down with some of the slabettes and draw out some shapes...but I actually got on the wheels tonight and made a cab! GASP! LOL

fI was going to pick my favorite one, but I think I'll make it even more difficult by waiting for you to slab the rest and post them.

LOL When I was slabbing the other day, I took a break because it was getting really hot. I came inside and "accidently" took a nap...and when I went back out to look at the others, it was REALLY hot...and I wasn't sure there was anything left that was slabbable (that's a word! LOL). I'm hoping I can get back on the saws on Wednesday - my day off...and I'll take another look.

Makes me think of a thunderrock i got once that had little bits of 'hot dog' through it, but mostly bun. Was quite a bummer Thank you! (and not a worry at all! )

At least you’re craving mustard not Catsup.

Wow. That's about all I can say. Just wow. Oh, and getting them in the mail is WAY easier than floating down a river in the dark and fighting badgers... Congrats! 😁
