Cool cutting, Jason. Your first photo (is that a cab?) was instantly recognizable as poop. Actually, before I verbalized I envisioned a small dinosaur squeezing that one out. Nice piece of work!
The rest of your cabs are deliciously done, too!

The rest of your cabs are deliciously done, too! Thanks Gary! That first one is a cab. I have a tendency to take pics of my cabs head-on...otherwise I feel like it skews the shape in the pic. I just HAD to make one of the cabs in that shape! LOL Diggin the confetti look in the Needles Blue, nice to see you cabbing again or maybe I've been afk Thanks Chad! Nah...lately I've been "lazy" as far as cabbing goes...and as far as everything else goes as well! LOL

Those are all real beauties Jason! Love the simplicity of the rose quartz, the color of that blue agate and the pattern of the turkish. Even when given crap to work with you make it look nice and shiny lol!

Way cool. I'm sure Ed would approve of your coprolite renditions, and the others too.

Gorgeous!! That Needles Blue and Turkish Stick are fantastic! I can't get over the gorgeous blue color (looks like a beach) and the amazing patterning in both. Thank you for sharing!!

Oh crap! I almost missed this.
As usual, your cabs are top notch, but that stick agate takes the cake. How many cabs did you get from that piece. I'm so glad it turned out to be really nice material.

I'm sure Ed would approve of your coprolite renditions, and the others too. Thanks Randy! It's really amazing the differences in the Coprolite pieces. I can tell which ones are going to polish highly, and which ones are going to have that matte finish. I'm fascinated by each and every one of them though! Gorgeous!! That Needles Blue and Turkish Stick are fantastic! I can't get over the gorgeous blue color (looks like a beach) and the amazing patterning in both. Thank you for sharing!! Thanks Peta! That's exactly what my wife said about that Needles Blue...a beach scene! Oh crap! I almost missed this.

Thanks Tela! Nah...you wouldn't have missed it...I wouldn't have let you! LOL This is the first cab I've gotten done out of that piece. I got two cuts off that piece...with one being a "heel" cut that I shaved off one side of it to smooth it out a little. I just shaped the second preform from the bigger slabette the other day. The cab above will be the most "active" of any of them. I was digging through a couple old threads on Turkish Stick Agate (there aren't many!) and one question was brought up about the "eyes" looking like they're going to pop out. I know exactly what they were referring to. Below are some pics of the heel cut. You can see the "gap" in the material around the "orbs". It's not really a fracture...it's more of a separation of the material. So, this seems to be a common issue with this material...which I find interesting! So, it'll be interesting to take a look at the rough I have coming to see if the same thing is happening. If it is, that'll make any fracture-free or gap-free cab the exception to the rule! LOL

rockjunquieHere's a shot of the other two preforms from the one slabette. I've got to do some work on that bigger one to make sure I can get a good dome where that chunk is missing. That smaller one should come out decent...and I'm hoping the bigger one will too. (Obviously! LOL)

Not bad. Better than I figured, actually.

Not bad. Better than I figured, actually. It's kinda neat that you can see in that chunk that's missing, it was from one of the orb structures that fell out...due to the spherical nature of the missing part! I think the rest of that piece is solid...but we'll see! LOL The cab pictured above...that cab has been sitting next to my cabbing machine for months. I had it all the way through the 280, but I wasn't sure about that colorful "mossy" section toward the bottom. I thought it was going to severely undercut...so I set it aside to "think" about it. I've only done that with a couple cabs...ever. I finally said to heck with it and finished it up the other night. But, I think it turned out to be worth the wait. LOL

As usual, your cabs are incredible. Your eye for capturing the best pattern never ceases to amaze me. That stick agate is amazing. I see why you want to try some more.

A really great set of cabs jasoninsd! A nice variety of materials and shapes. The needles blue and stick agate are truly superb, I'm also really liking the pattern in the rose quartz. The coprolite made me think of a funny story: Back in high school after I got my first car (a 1975 corvette in horrendously terrible condition that I just got running and started fixing up). I was outside washing and trying to buff/wax it and my neighbor jokingly hollered, "Hey... you can't polish a turd!" Lol. Well Jason, you proved him wrong. A turd can be polished! Lol

Beautiful, striking cabs as usual jasoninsd! The stick agate is incredible. I love the "explosion" of sticks radiating out from the dome. I like the rose quartz a lot too. Just enough pink. Something nice about the subtleness of them.

Something nice about the subtleness of them. Thank you so much my friend!! The other preform TSA I have sitting in the wings isn't as "active" as this one. When I saw the pattern, it was a no brainer that had to be the "focal point" on the cab. I'm hoping the TSA that should be here in a day or two is going to be as "plentiful" with the sticks as this piece! LOL I'm hoping to get out soon and get some more Rose Quartz collected...and I'm hoping I can find some with a little more pink in it. It really is just a "breath" of pink in these.
