The site was also down for a little bit and acting funky so I'd close everything out and try loading the page again

I’m going to try the above suggestions on iPhone and Mac mini. The missing photos were all visible when I voted.
I appreciate all the suggestions.

Hi Pat sorry you're having trouble but glad the photos were there when you voted. I think jasoninsd's advice was spot on for the reasons I'll now explain. FYI for all - The images that are initially visable in the post are 500x500 pixels, and when clicked on they open an 800x800 pixel version of the same photo. All 60 photos are hosted in the same place on our server (not proboards) so in other words if the server was down then all 60 photos would vanish. Most likely the culprit is the method the 500px photos are displayed in the post through the use of an old HTML 'table' which accomplishes displaying the photos in 10 rows of 3 across instead of 30 photos in a row top to bottom like a typical Proboards post. Hopefully it's not a widespread issue and if anyone is seeing broken image place settings in the post try refreshing and or clearing browser cache etc. If it persists you can always click each photo to view the 800px version and vote that way.

As a side note everything looks good on my wife's Iphone 13. I dont want to stir up a debate in this thread but I believe Apple got caught secretely deprecating obsoleting older technology apparently to force people to upgrade.

I dont want to stir up a debate in this thread but I believe Apple got caught secretely deprecating obsoleting older technology apparently to force people to upgrade. Sorry, but that would be very easily provable, able to be replicated consistently, and would be all over the news. You'd need more damning evidence to make a claim like that. The far easier and common explanation is a caching error/corruption.

You're welcome.

Might be time to graduate to an iPhone 14.

On older iPhone, experienced same issue. It wouldn’t be the first time Apple has been caught throttling their phones. Causing performance related issues.

Agreed - and as I admitted to the forum is trying to render 60 photos 500px x 500px so it's likely to be time-out errors compounded by planned Apple slowdowns lol. Back in the day we used to put "warning photo heavy" in the title for a reason.

I'm familiar with what people claim Apple does. After hearing arguments from laypeople around the time when Apple implemented CPU throttling when poor battery health was detected, I feel it's my duty as a professional software consultant to explain away absurd hypotheses before they get echoed more from people jumping on the bandwagon. While Apple is guilty of many things, planned obsolescence is not one of them. Proprietary hardware to extract more money from customers and sell more accessories? Sure. Using their App Store to maximize income from third party developers while simultaneously providing very little value? Sure. But if you have a basic understanding of how the internet works, you'd know that it's whacky to say that Apple selectively drops HTTP GET requests, resulting in images that won't load. It would require dynamic evaluation of ALL websites that Apple knows nothing about, and decision a path of one or many failures that provide some level of failures, but not critical cascading failures. The latter would be more likely to result in more extreme frustration that would push someone away from Apple and on to Android rather than to upgrade their phone. Hell, the former could do that too if it was experienced consistently enough. It is *not* in Apple's best interests for their users to have a bad experience, and anyone not realizing that is missing the bigger picture. Secondly, Apple provides top tier hardware quality. Though it's proprietary and costs a bit more than average to replace, Apple hardware lasts longer than the competition. If you go here: swappa.com/buy/iphonesYou can see used iPhones for sale. The prices on the secondhand market support what I'm saying. Used iPhone 11 Pro starts at a hair over $300. If what you were claiming was accurate, nobody would be paying those prices for a phone released in 2019. What does, however, affect prices is a 5 year dropoff. Apple guarantees updates to phones for 5 years. Security updates as well as functionality updates are no longer compatible past that time, and that's when you see the prices start to fall off. I still have my old iPhone X (which works perfectly by the way), but it's no longer supported and thus goes for ~$175. I'd like to point out that carriers don't support Android devices for that long past their release. It depends upon their manufacturer, but Google for example will EOL the Pixel 5 next week. It will be 3 years of support that they offered. However, they're getting better with more recent phones, so let's hope they can provide competition to Apple and improve the market. I'm on my phone now so I can't fact check other possibilities, but I will do so tomorrow (and on my 2011 MacBook Air, just to further spite your argument). Anyway, here are statistically better solutions over "buy a new phone because *the man* wants you to:" 1. Clear your cache or use a different browser. 2. Restart your device. 3. Wait for CDN propagation delays/hiccups to resolve. 4. Reload the webpage. Simple tech solutions come before superstitious ones. Occam's Razor. If you don't do any basic fact-finding, you can't jump to complex paranoid conclusions. I'm not well-versed on 99% of the topics on this board as I'm a newbie in this hobby, but you're speaking in my domain now.

ALL IS WELL! I cleared my cache as several suggested. Thanks! Great, Pat, thanks. What Apple has been accused of in the past and what you dealt with (cache issue?} can be true at the same time. And, at the same time, those instances may be mutually exclusive. Since you fixed your personal issue, perhaps the thread can get back on track. And, yes, I realize I added to the detour.

Might be time to graduate to an iPhone 14. I never seem to have any issues with my Flip Phone!! except maybe where I left it as I only carry it when traveling or the wife is traveling or when grocery shopping to add something not on the "written" list. My daughter even suggested buying her a new one and I could have her old one!! Didn't fall for that one. The saddest sight I see these days is during my morning walk passing a couple corners with teens waiting for the bus, all on their phones, hardly any face to face talking to each other.

Reboot !
Call me stupid, but I never realized till yesterday that you could click on the photos in the box & see larger ones. I know, I know, it clearly says it - I guess I'm slow.
Nice though, Patty

ALL IS WELL! I cleared my cache as several suggested. Thanks! Hooray! Glad it's working. Looks like there's no great Apple conspiracy after all. While it's possible there still is no evidence that it's the case. Like I mentioned, if what's being proposed is true, it would be extremely simple to prove by technical folks. But it hasn't been, which should tell any rational person that it's highly unlikely to be the case. With all due respect, I'm sorry, but it's simply an erroneous conclusion to come to. Let's keep to the domain of expertise here; rocks.
