Arrived at home on Friday after being away for months. I think I remember how these machines work?  Thanks for the opportunity to work this stuff! Cab left the Post Office today, estimated arrival on Friday. |

rockbrain and taylor we have received your cabs! That leaves our dear friends rockjunquie and hummingbirdstones and I believe it to be the case that neither will be able to enter a stone. While we will miss having them in the contest we're also very grateful for the $100 donations to the Ed Mohs memorial bench fund. If anything has changed for Tela or Robin since we spoke about it please let us know and the contest can wait a few days for you.

Does anyone know what day it is? IT'S UNBOXING DAY!   By the time I get off work tonight Eva will have all opened all of the packages and assigned a random number to each, with a label placed on the back side. She will also keep a (secret) log of which number corresponds with each cab so that after the public voting we don't have to ask who won lol I can't wait to see them for the first time - the suspense has been keeeeling me   |

Just a quick update, the cabochons are now in MY possession and complete anonymity has been maintained  Any shred of guilt that I had over tasking everyone with such a challenging material are completely gone now. The cabs that I'm looking at finally are BEAUTIFUL, every single one. All of you achieved a shine that far exceeds what I thought I would be seeing. I don't know why that surprised me given the level of talent in the group - maybe it's because I looked at the material for so long my opinion of it got worse and worse as time went on Anyway, you all did great and my job of judging is going to be a lot more challenging than I thought. I've got a few lighter days in a row work-wise so I'm going to spend get going on the photo taking this evening. |

Tommy is slam busy, so I'll answer you and update the post.
The voting will run for 2 weeks, so that should make it Oct 20th for the voting and then Tommy will do the hands on judging and tally it up.

Oh my goodness, these are so good, great work everyone! It was a challenging material and I definitely have some "how in the world did you do that??" questions but will hold on until after the contest of course 😄

Holy smokes! I now know why people love this material. Without pointing out anything specific there's areas in this stone that I'm really enjoying seeing polished!
