Read your link again. The Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni Grand Canyon National Monument will conserve about 1,562 square miles in three separate areas north and south of the Grand Canyon. Graphic also clearly shows N & S right at the top of the page. Bloomberg: But the monument isn’t expected to block Energy Fuels Inc. from mining for uranium at its existing Pinyon Plain Mine, which will be within the monument about 13 miles south of the Grand Canyon.
The company’s rights to uranium and high-grade copper deposits at Pinyon Plain have been affirmed by federal courts, Energy Fuels Vice President Curtis Moore said.
Even with the monument designation, the company is preparing for production to begin sometime within the next two years, he said.

orrum the southern portion appears to be the kaibab national forest, which appears to be north of you if you are down by Grand Canyon Junction, which is what Google shows when I search Valle. Is your property access through the monument? There is no indication at this time that they are going for roadless wilderness so private access will probably still be possible. If you ever need someone to check in on it for you I'm happy to take a drive up onto the rim, especially in this heat down in the valley. parfive thanks for the catch.

I can't figure out where Valle is on the map Rockoonz provided. I need to see roads. Here is the map with grand canyon village marked as close as I can find by comparing with google topography. Williams is well below the bottom of the map so you are pretty far away from it. If all the fanfare attracts attention to it your property value may rise significantly.

orrum the map from parfive is way bigger than what is on the screen, you can use the mouse to pan around on it, or zoom out to see the entire globe, or in this case flat earth . I will be saving it for ideas on routes when we want to escape the valley.

Maybe this land should be judged as "saved" for future use. Do we not have the ability to change the laws in the future?

Maybe this land should be judged as "saved" for future use. Do we not have the ability to change the laws in the future? It was national forest land before being closed, so it was "in reserve" and only available for use with proper permits and reclamation.
