That’s some outstanding material. I don’t think I’ve seen any before.

Beautiful! Looks almost like a Montana agate, except Blue. Excellent shine on them. Definitely putting those on my ‘gotta get someday’ list.

Those are gorgeous. You got a great shine on them too!
I passed on getting some of this material at the Tucson show earlier this year and still am regretting it.

Wow, that's such a vibrant color! Where did you source the rough if you don't mind me asking?
Guessing it's too soft for my skill level, but perhaps some day.

Those turned out beautiful. It's hard to find decent pink or blue Peruvian opal anymore.

I wish I could remember but it was found in Tucson. I do remember this was the lowest quality they had, the top level was around $1500 to $3000kg, I didn't pay nearly that amount

Opals can vary quite a bit in hardness depending on both water content and aluminum oxide content. The lower the water content and the higher the aluminum oxide content, the harder the stone is.

Whoa. Those are cool! 👍 Would be gorgeous displayed in a glass bowl. Looks like tropical sea water.

Those are precious, I have to add opal to my want list too. I have never entertained the thought of buying it because of prices and how delicate it is to work with. Thanks for sharing

Thanks all for the kind comments, skrapyard I wish there was cheap source for this material, even in Tucson its expensive Next time I think I will just have to put my money where my mouth is and pick up a couple kilos of it. I agree its not cheap! But its beautiful and I have a lot of love for opals.
