Roundness is natural. All the planets are more or less round, use a plasma cutter on iron or steel and the sparks flying out are round. Rocks moving down stream are becoming round. In a way, a sphere is perfection.

If memory arrives; the Mariana's trench and mount everest exhibit less deviation from the sphere than the imperfections on a common chicken egg; as a percentage of the whole.

If one made a lazy susan type base and used a dial indicator to rotate it you should be able to get a good measurement
