One of my favorite types of agate for display pieces is angelwing. Curious If anyone collects it like I do. If you do, I’d like to see what you got.

realrockhound Do you recognize this type of angelwing ? I acquired it from an old estate years ago and I don't know where it's from. The rhyolite matrix is similar to the rhyolite from Eagle Rock. The slab is several square feet and probably weighs 200 lbs.

Neet stuff; do you suppose it is formed under water? it generally forms in vugs. Essentially it’s silicated water or whatever that flows over the rock in the vugs and forms like stalactites. They often contain plume.
