Nice one jasoninsd! That is definitely a low dome! Thanks my friend! Gorgeous cab Alex! Looks like Marcasite Plume Agate to me...

Im falling short. Weather and waiting on supplies has put me in a terrible place. Tried to cut a cab this weekend and it turned out like complete ass. Going to try to get something pulled out last minute. This has not been a good month for me all around

orneryboi - That's really cool looking material! I had to look up Challis Plume Agate! I would have bet anything that was a tube agate! Nice job!

Great theme and excellent entries thus far! I went through slabs and cut some moss, plume and things that I thought would look neat back lit, but were.... pretty unimpressive lol. Finding something that looked cool back lit was more challenging than I expected. I was already slabbing some of this Laguna lace agate that I got a bunch of for a great deal in Quartzsite. Surprisingly, when I checked a slab, it looked pretty cool back lit. I think the parallax banding, with alternating clear/colored bands, help to make it more translucent. I wanted to try something a bit different than what was already entered thus far. It's a pretty large cab and is just a bit under 3". Here's a size reference picture with a dime. Contest picture Taking a decent back lit picture was almost more of a challenge than cutting the cab lol. Back lit Side view I almost forgot the pic of the rough preform before cutting the cab. Good luck everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing a few more entries before the contest closes!

Goldfinder, that is an extra special cab. I also try not to duplicate other entries because I like to see a variety of materials that meet the contest requirements.

Some nice entries this month! Beautiful cab opalpyrexia. Count me as another who'd not heard of that material. Very nice victor1941. I just love Montana and that's a particularly nice piece. Wow jasoninsd. I should have known someone would break out some iris. Very impressive cab. The rough slab didn't look like much but you did the perfect shape. Another beauty agatewhisperer. I love marcasite when you can get past the undercutting, sweet cab! orneryboi another great cab from a material I was unfamiliar with. Different because the rough looks like a sagenite spray but I would have never guessed that from the finished cab. It looks like tube agate which I also love. goldfinder, glad your purchase is working out for you. I love Mexican Agate, Laguna is one of my favorites, and that's a stellar piece. Beautiful big cab!

Thanks jasoninsd! I didn't think that would be the one that would make the cut but I just loved the backlit shot.

That’s some of the original graveyard. Don’t see a lot of that style in circulation nowadays
