Very new to this. Tumbling for about a year. Received an All-U-Need 8" flat lap for xmas. Water level Mozambique agate from Rock Shed slabbed on Kobalt tile saw then 80 grit shaping on the new toy. It's about the size of a quarter. I think I'm going to have fun with this cabbing thing !! Will update when polished.

That's a great job on a circle with the equipment you have there. That's the first thing I did was a bunch of circle's the size of a quarter. I was making ball markers. For my golfing buddies. Although I was doing it on a cab machine. Circles can be difficult. That's going to be sweet polished up.

Excellent job on the round! Looking forward to seeing it finished. Seems like you have an innate talent for cabbing.

Thanks medusa and hummingbirdstones - I used a quarter to trace a circle on the slab - I have put templates on my “stuff to get” list…also some dopping supplies…also some…well, you know how this goes…

There are some template shapes here somewhere that you can print out. I think rockjunquie may know where they live on the forum.

Really nice job on the round shape, it's perfect! Also a good job slabbing the rough to get those water lines. A quarter size would fit nicely into those key chain blanks. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks dshanpnw for your encouragement! hummingbirdstones and rockjunquie - I had considered buying the fancy metal templates on Rochshed but they are sold out - will print out your pdf's - thank you the quarter is good for tracing around of course but it blocks what you are trying to see - the stencil/template is better.

I have been too busy to get back to further advance my first try - also didn't want to go through the grits with just one stone. Had some time today, so I cut some slabs on my tile saw - hope to get some flat lap cabbing in this weekend...! I think the one with the cab outline drawn on it is a sheep bridge agate from markymark

Looks great! I use the All-U-Need 8 inch as well and have done a few cabs. Do you use the foam pads?

Nice work! It doesn't look like a first cab to me. It looks like you've been cabbing for some time.
