So I've finally joined the FB slabs and cabs group along with a slabs and heels. Different style of auction - some do buy it now, other's do more traditional auction. I've entered two 'share it now contests' and look what I just won! 3 small slabs of chrysoprase - I have no idea what this is, or how well it works, but the green is fantastic and hey - free rocks! I also have a 5lb thunder egg, a 3lb thunderegg and two smaller thunderegg's coming. I've only ever opened two thundereggs and they were both busts (one crumbled in my hand) so hopeful these produce something - and that the 5lb egg isn't too big to crack lol...Happy Monday everyone!

whoa, chrysoprase is nice! I hear it is hard, 7-7.5 on the Mohs. I never have much luck with thundereggs.

St. Patrick's Day is coming up, you can make a three leaf clover out of those.

Do you know the beds the eggs came from and what state they were found? Most eggs cut great and have beautiful interiors..

That was the once thing she said was they came from an estate sale and she's not sure of origin. I'll share pics of the whole egg, but until I get them it'll be a surprise

Mexican coconut geode. Las choyas You are the rock whisperer! I had to look them up and they seem pretty enough inside, but not as much color as some of the other's that I've seen. I'll be sure to share here once I've cut them. Thanks, RRH!

Congratulations! Hollow Mexican Coconuts can have a wide variety of crystals inside. They are quite beautiful. Not sure what the solid ones are like.

It would nice if you could have them cut in half. Can't quite tell, is the 5lb one maybe a double, can barely make out what looks to be a join line. I have seen double Choyas and I have even cut and polished a nice large triple.

I've seen images of both solid and hollow and I certainly won't be sad about either (unless they crumble in my hand like the last egg I tried) - excited to see what they look like after I cut them open. Thanks! It would nice if you could have them cut in half. Can't quite tell, is the 5lb one maybe a double, can barely make out what looks to be a join line. I'll definitely share once I open them
