My kid is really into rock hunting with me, but she’s never real enthusiastic about the polished rocks I do. But when she sees Crystal specimens, she loses it. the other day, I got a laminated sheet showing all the different strange crystal specimen type things and she sat there staring at it for quite a while. I asked her which one she liked and she pointed at around 20 of them.
Her 11th birthday is this weekend. What would be a good starting Crystal specimen set up for her? I know I can’t get it together before the weekend, but I want do this for her in the near future.

What colors does she like? Hey James! Blue and pink are her favorites… but she likes everything that looks like a crystal. Especially the weird and unique looking ones. |

Also rutilated quartz. Decent size pieces will be expensive though.

One of my first crystals was an amethyst and also quartz points. I also actually liked the goofy man-made bismuth crystals. This sounds like a fun gift. I’d totally be geeking out over it. If you have time would you post a pic of the poster?

She already has quartz and amethyst and many other of those types that we find/buy. It’s the unusual ones that she is become interested in since she looked at the poster. I’ll post a picture of itwhen I get back home bit later.

Wow… i’m glad I double checked. It’s the different large macro crystals quartz that she wants. I’ve tumbled much of the other kind for her so wasn’t thinking... this makes it a little bit less challenging. Anybody have some big hunking any color macro crystal quartz for sale  |

For blue, there are various blue colored crystals such as various copper minerals, effenbergerite, blue fluorite, celestite, etc.
For pink, I cannot think of many. There is a pink fluorite. Halite, which has to kept very dry, and rose quartz although it is hard to find with crystal points.

vegasjamesWow! Those selenite are amazing! Thank you for all of the recommendations. I’m going to do some research and put together a display case that would work for her. Probably a wall mount of sorts. And a few of these more interesting ones that you named. And a Big hunkin piece of quartz. I should’ve thought about that before, she loves clear crystals and agate so I’ll get her one of those big spearpoint ones. Figure out display case or stand for it. This will be fun. But today I’ve got to go across town to hopefully grab a barely used 24” trail bike for her. Found one that she will love! Her current bike is at 16 inch version without gears I got her a couple years ago. She’s grown so much though, and she needs the gears. Her birthday sleepover is tomorrow, her best friends are twins so that’ll be…a little crazy lol.

I have no idea what the future holds for us traveling. ever end up in Las Vegas that would be so cool. thank you for the offer! |

I’m getting there 😂 I have never been a person to take naps, but now, as I approach 54, the way Ive battered and broke my body all my life…it really appreciates a 1-two hour nap daily. Even if I don’t fully go to sleep, I feel like I recharged a good bit. |
