Got a few done today. I had planned to cab all last week, but family stuff got in the way. Sorry about the quickie pics. I'm pressed for time. Also, please excuse my nails. I see by the pictures, I need to clean them better. First off Rhodonite from Idaho. Not as nice as I thought it would be, but unusual. This is the least attractive of the ones I have. Much better in person, but nothing to write home about. This is what the seller said: Next some awesome Jamesite jamesp sent me some a long time back and it just made it to my queue. Gorgeous stuff! I got lucky- no air bubbles. A little smidge of a freeform. I love this stuff too much to let a little broken piece go.
Another broken smidge, another favorite- Sonora sunrise. An unknown- likely jasper with some hematite that doesn't show well in the picture. It has a reflection across it, too. Really pretty in person. Royal Aztec Lace- I love shapes with corners.
MHPJ. It has a very shallow hairline. I need to put it in the ultrasonic cleaner. Too bad this stuff is so damn fractured, but when you spends 100s of thousands of years in a quake zone- ya get what ya get.
Lastly, a gorgeous moss/plume that has a name, but I have forgotten it. Bad picture. Much nicer in person.
If you think my nails are too ridiculous to cab, you should see my thumb nails. They always get a hair shorter when I cab. LOL!
Thanks for looking and if you know what that plume/moss is let me know.

Thumbs up! This is after I had to file it. Gene didn't do a very neat job of it. LOL!

They are gorgeous, but where is your thumb??? The only thumb Tela needs is the one to the top right
Lovely work as usual Tela, you certainly like your variety.

Gorgeous!! (I'm referring to the cabs...not your nails! LOL)
My favorite-ist out of the batch is that last one. The colors and tones make me wanna say Agua Nueva. The purple hues to the fortification...and the yellow tones to the moss are quite common with Agua Nueva...

Love them all - and enjoyed oohing and ahhing over them. My fav is the Sonora Sunrise - what a great pattern, and the Royal Aztec Lace is framed perfectly !
I'm looking forward to seeing your wrap on the Jimite.
Colors are like a clown fish.
Thanks for the show I guess if it's the first of the year, there must be more to come

Thanks Patty! I left Gene out on the table, so I can get an earlier start today... if I make it. I'm pretty sore.

Very nice cabs. The rhodonite and jasper with hematite are interesting. I love the shape of the Jamesite, and great save on the rhodochrosite. The orbs on the MHPJ are amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing! I absolutely love the color palette of the Sonora sunrise. 🤌
Also love the hematitic jasper that followed it - would love to see the shimmer as it turned in person. And like Jason said, the probablamente agua nueva is fantastic.

Some beautiful cabs that I'm sure will turn into beautiful wraps! The jasper with hematite always seems to be tough to get a good pic of. The rhodochrosite certainly doesn't look like a free form. I picked up a little bit of that pink goodness at a sale this weekend and I'm anxious to get a chance to work it.

Thank you so much! The Jamesite was fun. DH says it looks like something fro a cartoon with all the colors. Thank you for sharing! And like Jason said, the probablamente agua nueva is fantastic. Thanks, Chris! The hematite in that one almost looks plumey. Very cool. Lots of depth. I love that it's red and orange. I picked up a little bit of that pink goodness at a sale this weekend and I'm anxious to get a chance to work it. I got lucky with that rhodochrosite piece. I just had to follow the pattern. You'll love cabbing it. It is in my top 5 for cabbing material. It's hella soft, but polishes like a dream. This one I took to 14k, but I usually go to 50 or 100.
Thanks!

These are fantastic. I really like that Sonora sunrise and the Morgan Hill PJ. That rhodonite is different, but pretty cool.

All beautiful but I like the Sonora best. Nice work! Thank you, my friend. I like the sonora, too. Now, I just need to find that slab....

I just cut a cab of similar material. Mine was labeled "Texas moss agate". Could be right, could be wrong...thats what the old timer had penciled on the slab. Beautiful material either way!
