Secrets of the Bear Revealed!!!
ok, so most old timers already know the trick, but it was new to me....
on the front side, you put a piece of tape, then you load the back side with sugar, full packed. THEN you dop it, pull the tape off, tap the sugar out and grind and polish the front.
sounds simple when someone tells you, i was having a real brain drain when Bear sent me the drusy pre forms. i got as far as tape...but SUGAR! water soluable! and finer than salt!
(embrace the vug)

I knew tape had to be involved somewhere in there but couldn't figure out how without melting it with hot wax.

That is truly beautiful - I think it looks like "Forbiden Territory" if you know what I mean - hehe
Goodness that point is sharp too!

Whoa! That ups the bar! I really need to get some new adjectives for this. That cab is astounding! And I love it. Thanx for revealing the secret. I'll have to mentally file it away until I get some stone to try that on. Also a functioning grinder...

Awesome KD thanks for the druzy tip- I've been reduced to heating the stone and using papertowel cornes to absorb the wax!!! So simple yet effective!

Hi KD, Holy Cow ... that cab turned out beautifully! You are truly finding your place amongst the cabbers of the world A perfect piece indeed! I am glad that the sugar trick worked for you ... it is a simple process that has worked for years for me. A little secret that I have had for some years now ;D I am glad to be able to help others with similar concerns, when it comes to the drusy cabs. Thank you for the photo's - you have definitely done that piece justice Bear
