Looks like Gary Green, which has a reddish version. Could be wrong, though.

Could actually be Caldera jasper. Gary's cousin. I think the names are being used interchangeably a lot now but original was different material than GG found in the same vicinity.

Sorry, i overlooked that last comment. Do people interchange the name nowadays? Would it be safe to mark this as Gary Green/Caldera as a variety, like they do with Gary Green/Ellipso? So Sorry rockbrain! I feel like a jerk for not responding. You can kick me a couple of times, if you can catch me.

It’s gary green. There was a dispute which led to the name change. I’ll always call it by the original name.

(Forum friendly wording for the kids reading the rock forum.) Life got hectic for a couple days... I actually did see this...and saw the comments of RRH and Gary. Figured they nailed it...so I didn't comment on this one. That being said...I should have commented about this particular piece being super SICK!!

I know there are multiple names for Gary Green, and the info I read could certainly be incorrect, but I was under the impression that Caldera comes from a spot adjacent to the GG claim.
