Thanks. Yes, the waiting. Patience! lol. I almost started another stage 1 in the 3 pound tumbler today, but I resisted. I'm going to just use that as a catch up for rocks that don't pass a stage in the Rebel. Or at least try to.

I told my wife her rock got a couple compliments and that made her feel very happy. Thank you.

First tumble at stage 1 completed this morning containing Mozambique Agates, Mexican Crazy Lace and some neat yard rocks I found. We only have a few graduating to stage 2. First the stubborn rocks.

All the above are back in the tumbler with 60/90 for another 7 days. Added in the last of my Mozambiques and some Crazy Lace to top it off. Stage 1 redoux starter 7/21/24 11am.

Found this in the yard, looks like epidote to me but I am far from versed on identification.

This one is more interesting than the photo shows here. Not sure if this is some kind of basalt?

Yard quartz. Looks kind of ugly now, but hoping at the final polish she comes to life.

Not sure what this is but the patterns are interesting.

Brecciated rock, not sure what the matrix is.

Another brecciated yard find.

Brecciated rock. Red. Jasper in there? Not sure.

More breccia, although this is not the best side to show it.

Sorry about the lighting. This was my first rock photo shoot, and it was cloudy out, so I used some artificial daylight.

I'll update again next Sunday 7/28/24. Thanks for looking.

Batch Number 2 started stage 1 rough tumbling yesterday 7/22/24 for 7 days in 60/90. Using the small 3 lb AR-1. We selected some smokey quartz and 1 piece of fancy jasper. Will update batch 2 next Monday on 7/29/24. Also cut open 2 Moroccan Geodes. Will post a photo of those later in the cutting forum.

Update: Sifted through the rocks this morning and only had 2 that will graduate to stage 2. The rest will go back in stage 1. I added some smooth aquarium gravel to help get the grit more surface contact.

Rebel 17 batch (after two weeks in stage 1)

First the stubborn rocks going back to stage 1. Mozambique Agates, Mexican Crazy Lace Agates and a few yard rocks.

These two will graduate to stage 2 in the Rebel 17 when I get enough material.

AR-1 batch (after 1 week stage 1)

And the rocks tumbling in the AR-1, Smokey Quartz and 2 pieces of fancy jasper, will tumble again for a week in stage 1. Added some aquarium gravel to this as well, to help limit a little bruising I saw and improve grit contact.

Yeah, I would lean towards Unakite if that orangey area is indeed feldspar. Pretty neat to find that on my property. Don't see much else that looks like it up on our hill.
