The contest voting ended in a tie. Please vote again for one of these two beautiful entries. This tie-breaker poll will run for 24 hours starting as soon as it is launched. Good luck to the participants! Contest Theme: Orbs! chosen by our May contest winner realrockhound. Contestants are asked to create a cabochon of any size, shape, or color from any material that displays orbing. This can include orbs such as typical orbing you see in Bruneau jasper or other similar materials, or those found in ocean jasper, poppy jasper etc. This can also include creative cutting of a layered material creating the visual appearance of orbs.

Voting Criteria:Please judge each entry based on the following while keeping in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the difficulty levels of material vary as do photography skills and equipment. An exceptional example of creativity and skill might not always be flashy and bright, and we owe it to every participant to do our best not to allow it to become a photography contest. 1) How well was the challenge of the contest theme met? 2) How well did the shape of the stone meet the general contest requirements? 3) General appearance, beauty, artistic creativity. 4) Photography - is there a direct and focused front shot and a direct and focused side shot for voting purposes? If a tie vote occurs, a new voting poll will be launched for the period of one day and will include only the stones that were tied for the lead.

Seriously... I'm going to hang back and wait to see if I'm in the unfortunate position of casting a tie-breaking vote

by the narrowest of margins I would like to congratulate jasoninsd for victory in the battle of the orbs! rockbrain it's bittersweet also congratulating you on a gorgeous stone creation that came up just two votes short after two rounds of voting. Your cab is easily one of the nicest Bruneau cabs I've ever seen.

Congratulations jasoninsd. It's a spectacular cab. I don't like losing but I have no issue losing to this one. Great job. Congrats to everyone. There were several cabs in there that I thought were serious contenders. Also, congrats to the voters. I know a lot of it is opinion and taste but I think the voters did a good job this time.

LOL Congratulations to the winner, the runner-up and all the participants! Thanks PS! Great cabs and congratulations to the winner. Thanks Victor! Thanks Brother...and thanks for a great theme! Thanks Brother! (See below ) Thank you my friend! ** OKay...so I am extremely honored to have narrowly squeaked out a win this month. I was SO impressed with everyone's entries in the contest this month...I honestly didn't think I stood a chance. The material and craftsmanship were both so top-notch, I wouldn't have been surprised in a 16-way tie! I'd like to give a massive tip of the hat to Gary ( rockbrain). Not only is he one super talented cabber and wrapper, he defines the word gentleman. (Whether he likes it or not! LOL) Like I said to Tommy...now I just have to come up with a GOOD idea for a theme for the next one! YIKES!! LOL

All of the cabs this month were great. I mean all of them. The 2 winning ones were exceptional! Even the tie breaker was almost a tie - they were both just so good. Congratulations rockbrain - that Bruneau cab was absolutely stunning. You should still consider it a win. Congratulations to the winner of the tie breaker jasoninsd - Your crazy lace was sick. Those orbs looked 3D - so cool! Very nice work buddy! To the rest of you cabbers - get to work on those freeforms! I can't wait to see what you all create. I hope the category brings out even more cabbers
