I have abag of cabs to fix, whether it's chips, broken, the shape, not shiny enough.... The problem is that I never go back to finish them, I move on to the next one. Is this just me? Here's the problem children-

Absolutely and especially if I see a shape or symmetry problem. Occasionally a cab will look fine on the dop, but later might seem a little off. This is usually because I've been chasing an interesting pattern in the cab. That might cause less attention on the shape, or the pattern may actually cause me to unintentionally distort the shape. In fact, just today I picked up a finished, excellent stromatolite cab that was lying in a tray with other finished cabs (which are in individual bags). "Why isn't this finished beauty in a bag?", I wondered. Then I felt the edge chip in the girdle.

It depends on how much of a fix it needs. If it needs a lot of work.... who knows WHEN I'll get to it.

Yep. So many still on dop that are actually perfect but just need the girdle polished. Haven’t touched them for over a year.

Yep! Sometimes it is just easier/more fun to start a new one than fix an old cab.

Yep, into the tumbler they go. That's where my less than mediocre ones and ones that I think won't finish well go. A lot of times they come out of the tumbler looking pretty good and then I'll cab them again.

The tumbler idea sounds good! In my case we are still learning, so my low level ocd will not allow me to leave it unfinished! :-)

Brother...you're not alone! LOL
I have a HUGE bag of cabs that had a flaw during working them. I kept thinking I might get back to them...then finally said to hell with it! LOL
I figure I'll give them away one of these days as I know I'll never want to take the time to fix them. They aren't what I originally envisioned...so I don't care about altering them to get "second best". There really are some sweet materials in there. Someone might get a kick out of going through them and working (*reworking) them as they may never have worked that material...
