There will be 8 different choices to vote on for Octobers monthly cab contest theme. In the event there is a tie, I'll play Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, pick a cab contest by its toe and select one. Please choose from one of the choices below and place your vote. Each requirement for each theme will be presented below.
1. Composite. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material. However, the cab must include at minimum, two different types of material. This would consist of cabs such as Intarsia, doublets or two different materials joined together.
2. Scenic. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material, that best captures a scenic landscape. This can include other wordly landscapes or oceanscapes.
3. Stones with inclusions. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material, that captures inclusions encased in a clear host material. Examples would include materials like rutile quartz or dendrites, etc.. encased in clear chalcedony.
4. SOFT STONES. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material with mohs hardness of 5 or less. Furthermore, the cab will have to contain at least 3 sharp corners.
5. Metal Inclusion. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material that displays some form of metal or metallic properties in the stone. Examples would include Marcasite or agates/jaspers/sedimentary rocks that display metal in the cab.
6. Tribeunited's Crack and Hole. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material. The cab must contain at minimum one of the characteristics of either having a natural hole through it created by a vug or fractures in the cab (preferable healed fractures). Pics will be displayed if anyone has confusion on what this would entail.
7. Crapochons. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material that consists of pertrified/silicified crap. Coprolite
8. Four sided asymmetrical. Contestants will be asked to create a cab in any shape, size or material. However, the cab must be 4 sided and be asymmetrical.
