::)ok, maybe a letter opener...it's tiny. and it needs more work, too. blade courtesy of Connrock and handle (bookmatched) courtesy of Steve Holmes. this is a bugger to do on a Genie....and yes, i lost a little skin on this one. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/krazyD/knife01.jpg) ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/krazyD/knife02.jpg) it's all Stoners fault..and Neph's. Very cool KD. See, it wasn't that bad. You did a great job on it. Hell, the hardest part is finding material big enough to make the blade. Is the blade obsidian? Those two stones look great together. It's just like grinding a cab, only larger, although I don't have a Genie, so apparently it's not so easy to get to all the places you need to when using one. At any rate, it turned out excellent. Ready to do another one?

That turned out Great KD...the two stones compliment each other well. I really need to get a grinder, it sure would open up the boundaries quite a bit. Thanks for sharing... Steve

Cookie...I think you have been gone too long. These knives have become very popular. There are some talented Stone Knife makers here. Steve

Awesome job KD, that's really nice. Once again you pick the perfect matching colors, that really looks great. You continue to amaze me with your talent.
Cookie, you need to do some searching for the knives that Stoner and Nepherite have done. We have some big talent here beyond a doubt.

oops, sorry, yes, the blade is obsidian (from Connrock) and the handle is indeed, Picasso marble (jasper?). Steve Holmes sent the Picasso and i sawed a piece in half to create the book matched handles.
this would be a lot easier on a different style grinder as i wasn't able to reach some areas very well without bumping into the adjacent wheels, but it was interesting.
thanks for all your comments!
KD

That's so cool! Been thinking about trying to make some myself. I do some taxidermy mounting and craft work and have been wanting to make one with bone or horn handles. I like your handles better though. Gives me some good ideas.

Nice Work KD. I want to see more photos of the areas we cant see. It looks like you did a good job from what i can see though. Keep it up, and if you can get some better photos, i would love to post them on my site. And i sure Tony would love to post them on his site too. That Picasso is a good choice for handle material. Thanks for sharing.
