Fergie made it to 5 mos of age without major incident. Last week she stuck her face in the wrong dog's bowl. Emergency surgery to save her eye (Merry Christmas ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) ) and we won't know for months if it was successful. Good photo ops, though. :-/S The Victim. Poor little 5 lb Fergie. ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/NMrocks/Critters/EyeFerg1.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/NMrocks/Critters/EyeFerg2.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/NMrocks/Critters/EyeFerg3.jpg)

Hey S, I was really upset to here about Fergie! I'm praying for a happy ending. My spinger cut a pad a couple of weeks ago and I'm still trying to take care of it. Had to put her on antibiotics now. She just won't leave it alone. Never thought, I should have gotten an Elizabethan collar. I know how it is about going after the wrong food. You have to be careful around my mother-in-law for the same reason! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Ron

Fergie sustained her eye injury exactly 4 weeks ago today. She had her 1 month checkup with the doggie opthamalogist and is doing well. She got her E-collar off and no longer has to suffer cage rest (very difficult for "Warp-Speed-Ninja Fergie to be still). She can have supervised activity. She can have her toys back. Not out of the woods with the eye for another month. As of today she has the orb and has vision. ;DS She's FERGALICIOUS! ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/NMrocks/Critters/Fergalicious3.jpg) ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/NMrocks/Critters/Fergalicious2.jpg)

awwwe poor baby! i'm glad she is doing better susan. i keep my hose handy for these kinds of incidents. my dogs don't break into fights often but sometimes 2 of the males get ornery. i've found a good flooding of water gets everyone back on the right page. works on hubby, strangers, kids, and dogs! oh and snakes and wasps too! throw in a little screaming and stomping and in no time things return to status quo lol.

She puts the boys on "rock - rock"! (for anyone that thinks I've lost it...well...I have...but that's not the point! It's from the same song Susan was singing!) How horribly stressfull all this has to have been. That poor lil girl. (maybe she will keep her beak outta them other bowls now ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ) She's an absolute picture. Ron...my neighbor has a Lab that had a similar problem on it's pad. Dog keeps goin after it (lick, lick, lickkkkkkk) and keeps breaking it back open. He's been battleing it for over a year. When I see gizmo with the martini hat...I know he's in trouble AGAIN!

That's the cutest little pooch! Sorry to hear about the injury... was Isis appropriately sorry? She's quite a bit bigger than poor little Fergie... maybe Isis is jealous!!

Kim, it wasn't really a fight. It was just one quick bite to the face and that was all she wrote. Fergie would never fight with anyone and loves all animals and people. Isis is a cranky old Alpha female and has never liked puppies very much. For the most part I keep them separated. Dan, this was Isis after the incident. I think she was mostly sad because she was in deep trouble. Fergie was screaming and blood was all over her face. She almost died. 5 pound dog has no chance against 65 pound dog. Dr Kennard says Ferg was very, very lucky. Define lucky. :-/S ![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/NMrocks/Critters/TheCulprit.jpg)
