You found Rock Bottom! That is so cool. Couldn't you bring home just one 200 pounder? Kind of sneak it out!

They left me alone in back of the house at the dumping pile and the street was just below and I thought of rolling some pieces down the hill and then picking them up when I left! ;D But I'm just too damn honest for my own good!

WOW, glad they got a bunch; hoping to pick some up for a good price. What did they charge you per pound?

Holy cow Ed! Really neat post! What a variety of material too. Seeing that deposit first hand must be really neat. So many types in one area. Wow! Poppy jasper sites seem to be like that with lots of different types in the same area. I've read the two main beds that have poppy jasper in that region are the Sausalito chert layer that is up to 530 feet thick and the Ingleside chert bed that is about 900 feet thick so I guess there's potential for poppy jasper veins that can go pretty darn deep. I heard in the 90's the Lionsgate mine? was mining the Uvas Creek material underground and I had the opportunity to look at some of their stuff that was going at "per gram" prices! Whew! Pretty stuff and more solid than the surface material but awful expensive. So Ed, you gonna get together some money and buy that ranch? *S* At least you've gotta go back there and buy you a pile of those nice poppies before they sell the farm.....mel
