Well, I've gone and done it! Winter is coming and I have set myself up with everything, I think, I need to spend those cold evenings cranking out jewelry. Gonna have to spend the days working my fanny off to pay for it all! ;D
I ordered a bead board, wire jig, thread, needles, tweezer set, some keyrings, clasps, jump rings, connectors, spacers, bails, and beads - lottsa beads.
red rutilated quartz - round peridot - discs moonstone - discs jasper - oval facet red aventurine - tube bead strands jasper - round corrugated sterling donuts - 5mm corrugated sterling twists sterling crimps multi garnet quartz adventurine - diamond shaped jade green - round purpleblue iloite - teardrop tourmaliated quartz - disc black peacock pearls - rectangle rose quartz - faceted bricks labradorite pear faceted carnelian ovals jet austrian teardrop labradorite disc 200 mixed beads - seed beads and such
Thats probably really not a whole lot of beads when one starts making necklaces and such but sounds like alot to me. Probably should have also bought a book that tells me what to do, but I figure I'll just have to be creative and figure it out myself! Gonna have to go to WalMart and get me a tackle box or something to keep all this stuff in! Gotta find my dremel so I can start learnin' how to drill holes now that I finally got my drill press set up.
And if I am not any better at this bead making than I am at wirewrapping, I will be having myself an auction to get rid of all this stuff! ;D

LLana, Walmart has plastic cases with four fishing tackle boxes for about 15$ My wife and I have twentyXfour cases for our bead stock. If you cannot find them, the large 1100 series Shimano clear polyethelene box will do. It has 48 compartments and you can adjust the compartments for your needs. The 1100 series fits most jewelery cases for carrying, transporting, and using at the bench. The advantage of polyethelene is the more the hinges get used, the stronger they become. Great luck with your endeavers. I hope you do well.

And when I get tired of beading, I can just dump all the beads and stuff in the WalMart bag and GO FISHIN'! I hope I do well too! I'd like to be able to do some really nice stuff like all the other talented and creative folks on the forum and maybe even sell a couple of things. One thing about it, I know I have a number of people that will help if I get stuck and need some instruction or encouragement! And that's nice to know! llana

Luck and love to you, Llana. I'm proud of you for making the blind leap to beading. I think Not knowing what you are really doing can only add to your creativitey. Make it up as you go along! The more unique the better. I'm just playing around at this point and trying to have fun and relax. Hipefully, someone will appreciate my/your efforts one day and we can make enough money to support the habit (that's all I'm looking fo right now). Wishing you well,
cookie. P.S. I set aside some Georgia red clay quartz that I tumbled but didn't do anything with. Want it?
