My first day back home and I had planned to get caught up on the group, emails and such and then set up the GP6 and get to cabbin'. Well I never made it past the 'puter this morning as I came upon an ad on Craigslist for some slabs and 'cut rock' for $100 or best offer. I called and the guy told me that his friend had passed last year and he had inherited several of his collections including his lapidary material. I went to check it out and was blown away by what was there! 18 boxes, several buckets and 2 drums full of big rocks, medium rocks, small rocks, slabs, jewelry findings, etc. And a killer variety! I tried not to act _too_ excited and after going through some of it and talking a bit I offered $80.. he accepted. WOW.. I'll be going through this stuff for weeks! Among other things there was little baggies of turquoise nuggets, malachite and turratella boulders, pet wood, agates, jaspers, onyx, variscite, tigers eye... the list goes on and on! I grabbed the camera when I got back to show off the tip of the iceberg ;D I've definitely got my weekend cut out for me ;D

WOW! What an amazing and wonderful experience for you, especially when you consider what you posted over on the "Life, etc." Board: Cher we were staying near the Xcel Energy Center in St Paul. I just got back to Phoenix last night. Ang (cleo12797) asked me Tuesday if I wanted to go rock hounding with her, and I hoped to break away Weds afternoon to go but there was a meeting I couldn't miss. I don't know if our travels would have taken us over that bridge, but it's for the best that it never materialized. Looks like you didn't get to go rock hounding there because you were in for an incredible surprise when you got back home! I think it was just the Universe looking out for someone who is always looking out for others! Two last things--1) When are you having a Contest? and 2) Did I win? ;D Lady B

Oh man thanks a lot guys! ;D I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole deal. I made it (almost) through 2 boxes and half a bucket today. You guessed it.. the GP6 set up had to be pushed back a day I've seen more than one member here stumble upon the 'deal of a lifetime' in the past 7 months.. I guess it was finally my turn ;D Oh yes Lady B.. contests are coming up! As well as pleas for ID's lol And more pics! ;D Thanks again everyone!!
