Brad:Our Umbrella is the only one we have left. Before we had Amazons and a Blue and Gold too and man was he a hell raiser! Whew! My sister in law has a couple of Grays and I find them kind of annoying as they just duplicate too many noises and it drives you nuts. That's one thing nice about raptors. Noise factor is way down!....mel

Hey Mel, From what I've read, Perigrene Falcons are the fastest predator birds alive, I read that they dive at up to 200 miles per hour. Is that true? I also read that a male and a female will circle in unison, the male above and the female below so the male can drop food to the female to feed the yungun's, do you know if thats true?

Jamie: Peregrines have been clocked to 220mph in a dive but observations from pilots have them even going faster. The nostrils actually have special valves to shut off airflow so the air doesn't blast in while they fly fast. I've heard of many birds of prey passing food items in flight and many parasitize other raptors by stealing food in the same way. Harriers especially buzz Black Shouldered Kites and make them drop their prey which they then snatch up midair. I've seen this and it's very cool......Mel
