I gotta go with everyone else here. That is the prettiest rock I've seen tumbled here. Just breathtaking. And that shine, man that's off the charts. Great job!!!!!!!

Sorry for bringing this very old thread back to the top, but I came across a post in a recent thread about tumbling large rocks, where Parfive had referenced this old post but noted that most of the pics were gone. Well, they weren't deleted, just re-organized years ago, which broke the links. You used to be able to just modify the old posts without bringing them back to the top, but I don't see any way to do that on this thread now, so I'll add back the photos in this reply, which I think will end up also bumping this old thread from 2007 to the top of the list again. Oops. Anyway, the polished pics, as per the old thread... same side, polished: Other side: An end view: While I'm at it, I might as well add some pics of this stone when I first tumbled it with agates (Botswana, Lake Superior and Montana agates). As mentioned, the big Stone Canyon chunk beat the crap out of the agates so I didn't run things this way for long: I found small garnets made a much better filler, their tiny size balancing out the big chunk. I don't have any pics of that set-up during coarse grind, but here's one from somewhere in the run from fine-grind through to polish (these stages were all done with just the big Stone Canyon piece and small garnets only): Oh, and the garnets turned out well also: -Don

Wow, this is an old thread! ;D .... Happy to see it again, I actually remember this one and it doesn't seem like almost 6 years has went by. That's a beautiful stone and I'm enjoying looking at it again. Do you still have it?
