Hi John,
I am going to keep you away from my kid. He was asking for snake for the last couple of years. He is into snakes, lizards, dinosaurs, the typical stuff 6-7 year olds are interestied in. His grand pa wanted to get him a snake for his birthday. My wife nixed that idea as she is the one who would have to take care of it. But, she compromised on a lizard!
My wife "promised" him that he could get another lizard when he becomes an expert! This means he takes over all care of his lizard, feeding, cleaning the cage, etc.
I don't think my wife wants 100 or more lizards or snakes in the house.
I would probably die if I had to drive 3 hours to fish. There is a river 5 minutes from the house, 15 minutes to either the lake or ocean/wharf. Yes, fishing was a major consideration where I lived (not to mention reasonably prices homes). Even though I live about 30 minutes from San Jose, the housing pressures pushes up the housing prices in the mountains. I have seen cottages selling for over $200,000! If my family didn't live in the Bay Area, I would probably have picked up and moved to a more reasonably priced area; of course, in an area with great fishing opportunities!
