I've posted a couple times already but never with a formal introduction so here I am. I'm Stacey. I'm a photographer, mother, landscaper, and rockhound. Sometimes even in that order. I live in Michigan with my husband who is a physician for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. We have three children (ages 4, almost 3, and 5 months). We've got two dogs, 8 cats indoors (yeah, I know but when the outdoor cat has kittens and you help raise them you get attached) , 2 chinchillas, 1 outdoor cat, and several fish. I've always loved rocks. You can find some many pretties. Just recently got started in the wonderful tumbling world and a bit excited. Anyway that's me. If you wish you can check out my photography website. Lots of pictures and more info on me. It's www.hobopuppyhotshots.comI'm also one of administrators of www.therealdotin.com which a very friendly photography website. Cheers, Stacey

Welcome to the club. It sounds like the first advice you need is where to take your outdoor cat to be spayed.

Welcome Hobopup, Nuthin wrong with being excited about tumbling rocks! I think most of us get excited when we lift the lid on the polish barrel! Your photosite was very interesting, some lovely wildlife work there, you must spend a lot of time in the wilds to get such wonderful shots, thanks for sharing them. So being an expert with the camera there's no excuse for not posting lots and lots of pictures of your rocks! Did anyone mention we like photos?!?! Cheers, Harry.

Hello Stacey and Welcome! You'll find most of the members here at RTH are very friendly and always helpful, especially when it comes to anything rocks. Some of us like dogs, some of us like cats, some of us like birds, some of us even like children, but all of us definitely like rocks! ;D Your photography is stunning and I've bookmarked your website for many future visits. I'm known as Lady BLABBERPOSTER because I tend to post quite a lot of posts! I'm also known as a bit of a contest nut...there are two competitions you can participate in right now if you hurry! As for Mark and John...I guess they never saw my pet kitty. She's usually very friendly--especially with people who are very nice to her. Here's a shot of her laughing at those two funny guys! Again, welcome! Kitty and I really look forward to seeing your photos of lots and lots of rocks. Lady B...

I hate cats. I hate cats BIGTIME. Hmm, perhaps a questionable welcome to a new member who has nine cats? Welcome Hobo, if you are in Michigan maybe you can find your own lakers? Since you are a photographer, we know we can expect lots of good rock pics from you! ;D -Don

Hello Stacey!
Despite the "welcome" you recieved from a couple of our members, this is a great site to learn and make new friends. Your website and photos are excellent! I very much look forward to seeing pics of your work. I must warn you though, when you see a thread I started that has pics, look at your own risk. My photo's will give most people the heebee geebees.
I hope your experience here will be as enjoyable as mine has been!

Welcome Stacey, My name is John, I'm a Husband, father, homeowner therefore a landscaper, carpenter, maintenance man, general flunky and rock hound. I live in Central Missouri, have one son and one dog, although I do have eight hammers in the house with me. I know, I know, eight hammers. I have a sledge hammer, a two pound hammer, a nice framing hammer, two claw hammers, a couple finish hammers and a rock hammer. This may offend some people but we are just OK with it. LOL
That is what makes RTH great we are all different but still the same. john
PS - My digital camera quit working yesterday right in the middle of trying to post pictures of a bunch of beautiful gift rocks I received from Lady B. I may need your advise instead of you asking ours! Who would have thought sitting on it would hurt it??
Again Welcome!!!!!!!!!

Hi Stacey and welcome! Well I guess you don't lead a dull life! Your photo's are great BUT,,,,,,, There's one in the "Miscellaneous" section that is titled "A rock" or just "Rock"!!!! Now that you've officially become a rockhound, this is not acceptable anymore!! LOL Your first assignment is to ID that "Rock".Next Lady Bea wants a poem about it,stoner will help you create a cab out of it,doc will teach you how to put it in a setting for you,KD will show you how to turn it into a beautiful piece of jewelery, but whatever you do DO NOT send it to me cuz I'll tumble it!!!!! LOL LOL LOL I know you'll enjoy this group and learn more then you've ever dreamed of knowing about rocks. If you can't find the answer here,,,,,it doesn't exist! You'll also find that some of us kinda teeter on the edge of insanity and will jerk your chain every now and then,,,,,,not me though,,,,,I'm as straight as they come! ;D ENJOY ;D ;D ;D connrock

LOL Recently I hit upon some very difficult problems in my life and the members of this board stepped up with loads of support and help! They are more than rockhounds, they are my family! Again, welcome Stacy. Sheri
