Well, if I could vote for ones that went away then Calvin and Hobbes would be on my list. Joe

Calvin and Hobbes was one of the all time greats, probably #1 on my list. His later stuff got much too philosophical for my liking, but the early stuff was unbeatable.
Dilbert is right up there too, same comment as for Calvin and Hobbes as for the later stuff being stale. The early stuff was gut-splitting, the stuff he's doing now I've pretty much stopped reading because it's just so mundane.
Another oldie but goodie on my list was The Far Side.
My current favourite is probably Bizzarro... love that offbeat sense of humour. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it's hilarious.

if we can count ones that aren't published, i'd have to say Gary Larson's The Far Side was my all time favorite. current ones, i guess i like Dilbert and Cathy.

That would indeed be an ace T-shirt, Stefan.
I forgot to add to my list the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Kinda hard to come by though, not mainstream.

Mr. Bode was born about 10 miles south of where i am located and i was lucky enough to be a very good friend of his mother. i got to meet his son, Mark, once. interesting link if you have time to browse: www.markbode.com/site/vaughnbode.htmlKD

although I haven't read any in aaaages, The far side is at the top of the list and Garfield too (I'll never forget the one where Jon tells the waitress that his potato is bad and she takes the potato & spanks the potato saying "bad potato, bad, bad potato!" Maybe it was funnier when I was 15??
