Where are all the Pacific Northwest rock people? Probably battening down the hatches for the big wind that is supposed to hit this evening - probably mid to northern Washington. Rocks may not be the only things tumbling tonight!! Take care......................

So far, nothing much is happening. They'd better have every damn electrician in the PNW on call tomorrow because we WILL NOT ABIDE our power being out Sunday!
The wind wouldn't be so bad. But we've had so much rain that the ground is completely saturated, which makes it much easier for trees to topple.
And BTW, we are officially experiencing La Nina, according to the weather service.

Oh that so sucks Xena, can't you find her some head phones that completely block noise? I'd hate having to look at my barrels sitting there, NOT rolling. ;(

Hmmmm she's just being obstinate isn't she. Maybe a bottle of wine, might dull her senses and she won't hear the tumbler. That's got to be really frustrating for you, I thought you had this problem all figured out.

LOL well at least she has power now, she just called. I'm gonna find some rechargeable lanterns and stuff for sure, I don't like this power outage thing!

Poor xena.
Our power went out at some point between 1 am and 7 am. It was back on by 7. We just had a glitch again but the power just flickered enough to make me reset the modem and router. Weatherbug shows the highest gust was 38mph. Sustained seems to be around 15 or so.
I lived thru Andrew down in Louisiana so this ain't nuttin. Altho I am relieved we had to cut down the cedar tree in our front yard. That is the only tree close enough to do some damage if it toppled. It just up and died on us. Our property edges a greenbelt in the back and we were hearing those trees snapping and groaning.

Xena, wife tried black cohosh to no avail. She had to go back on prescription mones. I can't believe she doesn't find the sound of rocks tumbling soothing. It's like the perfect white noise to me.

Wind gusts at 38 mph take your power out? WOW!
We'd be without power at least once a week down here if that was the case.

Aka, its not the winds so much as all the trees breaking and falling on the power lines. WA is a green state on this side of the mountains and it is beautiful, but the dang trees can be a problem too.
Hawke I own stock in black cohosh LOL We have no insurance so no doc so no mones...but the Natives lived through it herbally so I'll figure something out for her LOL

Let's see, there were other things that are naturally estrogenic too.
BTW, our power was just out for about 3 hours. We JUST got back on. Oddly enough, I was reading an article in the local paper about 100k people without power and thinking about the big game tomorrow when WHACK! there goes our power.

Oh, and down here 50 miles north of Portland, we had strong winds, but just a short power outage.

Lol, you guys were lucky! Our power was flickering all night long, then finally went out for good yesterday morning around 8:30. Poor crew didn't get it fixed until 5:30 this morning. Yeah, i was awake... One of the poles in the park above our house had the whole top snapped off by a tree coming down on top of the lines. Apparently the lines were not only snapped, but snarled up in the trees and the lines below... took the poor guys forever to get them sorted out, the new pole in place, and everything back on line, all the while dealing with more trees coming down on the same lines. Such are the hazards of power lines and 120 foot doug firs But it seems to be calm now. I hope the power crews are able to get everyone online so THEY can take a break and go watch whatever that was everyone is buzzing about, lol.
