I thought this might be amusing to the carnivorous plant hobbyists here... I've had an off & on problem with aphids attacking my VFT's so in my ultimate wisdom I decided that lady bugs would provide an effective control measure. So, I went out, collected some ladybugs and put them in the terrarium thinking they would hunt down those pesky aphids and devour them but when I came home today I found one of them wedged firmly in the death grip of one of the traps! Damnit! Ya just can't win sometimes... ;D

Ok, I get the "reviving the oldest thread" award. I asked about carnivorous elsewhere and was directed to this old thread.
I am about to embark into this world, both inside the house and out. I have done a ton of research and hundreds of videos have been watched.
Are you still into it?

We've got a really great carnivorous plant greenhouse up in Sebastapol, (about an hour north of SF) www.californiacarnivores.com/I have a few pitcher plants, some sundews and a VFT that right now are all (outdoors) in their winter dormant state, but I'll put up some pics when things warm up and they get going again. Problem I have with Venus fly traps is that the local squirrles like to dig them up and eat the bulb they grow out of...

All right now those are cool! Every time I've tried to grow those I just kill them off. You've done a wonderful job with both the floriculture and the photography!.....Mel

Don: What a great and interesting hobby!! It must bring you so much enjoyment in the harsh winter months to see these beautiful plants. I had a love of orchids and eventually I killed several of them. This was a totally enjoyable thread, thank you. Amber

eight year old thread? LOL bored? Worth his time for what? I see all the photos. Yep. bored. with jamesp , melhill1659 , and coloradocliff MIA it is quiet. I see them too, but I'm using the plug-in. I did a "Quote" which allows us to see the BB code. They are photobucket. So old they didn't bother with the ransom?

I like them. Tommy - worth your time? It's always worth my time if they can still be fixed. I love the trips down memory lane - I'm not much of an old-thread reader unless I'm searching something specific so I'm seeing most of these for the first time. This one gave mixed results - last and 3rd to last photos would not open at PB no matter what I did. Maybe I'll try again later... if I'm bored
