Not knowing anything about vibes- I would say smaller should be ok- larger would probably be a problem- but One question- Why would you want to get a smaller one?

I don't know about the Vibe-18 but my Lot-O-Tumblers (vibe units) have to be fully loaded for a couple reasons. One is that the mechanics of the unit won't work properly without having the weight of a full load.If the load is too light the spring vibrate radically and the unit sounds like it's ready to go to the moon!! The second reason is that without a full load I don't get the right "action" of the rocks rolling around over and over while vibrating at the same time. Wish I could give you a straight answer,,,,,, Tom

hi lotta i told someone about this stuff befor but i dont know if they ever used it --but the wharehouse i usta work for had somethnig called spray undercoating for cars it comes in a can same as spray paint and they have a dry one that will dry like rubber on what ever you coat with it---and a wet coat which you dont want because it never real dries all the way---but i think it would work for coating the inside of a vibe bowl and give it some more life and allso keep it quiet --i dont have a working vibe so ive never tried it--- but when i get my homemade one up and runnin im gonna coat the bowls with it and give it a try
