Tumbling rocks, cabbing, fluorescent, etc. are my main hobbies, but I also enjoy playing guitar. I do a lot of camping so I carry a small Martin Backpacker with me. The type of music I play are groups or singer/songwriters like Neil Young, CSN, John Denver, Peter, Paul, and Mary, etc. etc. Though I may not be a really good guitar player, I still enjoy playing. People generally like it too. A lot of times they'll gather round my campsite just to listen. What other hobbies do you have?

My other hobby is building and racing radio controled boats. We have a local club here and get together on Thursday nights. I've had a thing for boats since I was little. Since I can't afford to race the full size one's I have settled for a scaled down version.

So many hobbies, so little time....wood carving, scroll sawing, working jigsaw puzzles, reading, officiating swim meets (which my children are involved with) and attending their other numerous events.

So little time, so many hobbies…… I dabble in pretty much everything. What I/we (hubby and I and most of our friends) really like is playing games or board games - if you go to your local Toys R Us and check out their games section, well we pretty much have all the games there in our basement - my mom jokes that we must have shares in their stock as we have so many games - we must have over 60 games (most of them are not the kiddy games either - go figure)

Aviation has always been a big hobby of mine, whether taking lessons, reading up or going to airshows I can't decide whether too look down at all of the pretty rocks or up and all of the cool planes! I'm also an amateur photographer although people tell me all of the time I should be doing it for a living! Recently I have also become interested in film making. I recently made a friend who has a screenplay ready to go and we are always talking about new ideas for film. We will probably have something together by the summer for a short film and then who knows?!?!
PS I saw somewhere on the internet that someone is already making (or has made) a documentary called "Rockhound; The Movie" I have been kicking around the idea of doing something similar.

My other hobby is steelhead fishing. Unfortunately, the kid's activities - baseball, soccer, cub scouts, etc is keeping me hopping these days.

I'm a hobbiaholic. I collect them as well.
Serious hobbies (IE - still active hobbies) - computers, camping/hiking, home improvements, quilting, reading, woodworking
Minor hobbies (I pull out once every couple months or so) - cross-stitch, fishing, travel, and many others.

I had always wished they offered hobbies as a major in college - I do woodwork, painting, scrapbooking, photo dvd's, piano, gardening, home improvement (out of necessity, not choice), and whatever else strikes my fancy. Too bad I have to work to support my habits, I mean hobbies. My kids don't even have to ask how I will keep myself busy when they move up and out. I already have plans for the bedrooms to be converted into my craft room.

LOL I kind of "collect hobbies" too. Pick up a new one about once a year, not including things I want to make or do but not enough to keep going with them.
Long-term serious other hobbies are gardening & plant hybridizing, which I was very involved in for all my life but no longer have time for; small shop woodworking, which I no longer have space for; Hiking and exploring wild areas- I swear I'm leaving the city soon, even if I have to buy a bare lot in the sticks and live in a tent! ...and after that we start going back to rocks.
Oh yeah, things I do a little bit of but keep doing over the years: Soapmaking Photography leather tooling herbalism painting/remodeling electrical work (more like favors or paid work than hobby I guess, but I generally enjoy it WAY more than plumbing. I hate plumbing.) Palm readings (only when inebriated)
Hmmm... does just getting inebriated count? Doing less of that these days but still indulge at least twice a week LOL
There are more, just not thinking of them right now. I even got a nice sewing machine capable of denim and light leather, but never got around to learning how to do that. There are probably boxes in storage with the beginnings of several more cool or useful new hobbies I never learned.

I've dabbled in so many areas I tend to forget many.
I have a bad habit of turning my hobbies into part of my business(woodworking, painting, gourd decorating, beef cattle, etc.) . Sort of sucks the life out of the hobby aspect and takes away some of the relaxing part of them.
The one that seems to stay with me year after year is landscaping and gardening. But I have to be careful with that now that my husband mentioned his boss wanted to hire me to landscape his place. Nope, not going to happen.
Hmm, all my sports related hobbies seem to have thinned out over the last couple years use to love softball, distance running, weight lifting, racket ball and volleyball. Just not enough time anymore.

I'm with you Joanna only it's my hubby who starts to see the $$ signs and that ruins it for me. I've had so many hobbies it's not funny but I'm easily bored with most and tend to let them go the wayside. Now I just like rocks. *smile* They are more fun, dont' talk back, you can brutalize them and they still turn out beautiful ... what's not to like about rocks?

I knit and crochet...make jewely...like the metal clay thing right now...I also paint a little. Does coming home from work and flopping on the couch count as a hobby?

Not really "hobbies", but one of these is usually taking up my spare time - animals, plants, photography, hiking, camping, mountain biking, and learning to play the Great Highland Bagpipes. S

I like building things around the house although I haven't done any recently. Photography, hiking, fishing are others. Amateur radio operator.
