It was about 800yrds from the public beach to the fossil area.
The tide has to be out or you can't access it from the beach.

I only got one good specimen but I have plans to go back before the tides start to work against me doing it during the day.

If I get bored later I will post a pic of the one good specimen I collected.

If anyone is going to be visiting South Vancouver Island I'd be happy to share the location or go out with.
