My oncologist said I in am complete remission, potentially cured and next week they'll be taking my port out!! I told him not potentially cured, I am cure cause I don't want to play that game again! Hopefully this will be the last time under the knife for a long long long time!!! Anyway, I'll be gone on Wednesday for an IV martini. ;D ;D

Its an IV access under the skin so a person doesn't always have to be stuck for the chemo or have a tube running into the heart to deliver the chemo such as the broviacs .It just looks like a bump under the skin usually on the chest, and an access needle is inserted into the rubber dome right under the skin to deliver the meds. Its a great device for people who need frequent IV access but don't want to be poked all the time and want to lead a normal life while getting treatment.

oh, thank goodness!! I knew you would get the all clear! Be sure you ask the Dr. for anti-anxiety drugs to take before each check up. I still have to take them because I get so scared before each one! Still no results on the mamo-------just say lots of prayers!! Love ya Sis!

Although you can't see it, I'm sure it is bothersome for you. Glad to hear it's come'in out! I'm praying you continue a with a speedy recovery. Tonja Actually, you can see it quite plainly. There's a bump about the size of a quarter that sticks up a quarter inch or so. The biggest pain for me is it's right where the shoulder strap on the seatbelts lays, that was a problem unless I was driving. And if it got hit or bumped with something it hurt like hell. It's just one of those things that will be a great relief to have it gone. |
