I don't know a lot about music and artists. I never pay enough attention. BUT, try this out: www.pandora.com/You put in a few songs you like, or a few artists, and they use a database of features (e.g., melodic vocals, piano solo ... etc) to present a customized lineup. You can vote thumbs up or thumbs down on each selection and they keep customizing.

Scissor Sisters are really good. You might like Semisonic.
My all time favorite "new" band is Old 97's out of Austin, Texas. Country twang/Indie/Rock... maybe an acquired taste, my wife hates them!!!

I love music...but I hear it EVERY single day at work. Jukebox is going all the time. Live music EVERY single weekend. For the most part, I have a half hour drive each way so I'm usually listening to Talk Radio. One of my favorites lately is Mary J Bliges new CD. (I think I should have been born a hip hop queen - Yeah right!) Love her version of the U2 song One. And...other than maybe 2 songs on the CD...all are very good.

I'll have a look at Semisonic, never heard of them before. I love the new scissor sisters song, Don't feel like dancing, great feel good song. Yes I love that song, but don't think anyone can beat Johnny Cash singing it though! Will look out for Mary Bliges too

Been in a "Heavy Metal" mood lately so it's been Black Label Society. I did pick up Peter Frampton's new CD the other day "Fingerprints." It's all instrumental and he has quite a few guest artists. I give it two thumbs up. Drive By Truckers are a band I've gotten turned onto lately too though they're probably not for everybody.

Yeah, Cash's rendition was interesting! Max, Drive By Truckers and Old 97's have a similar feel to them, yep I'd agree they aren't for everybody.
Scissor Sisters covered Comfortably Numb too, anyone hear that?

Rose, Semisonic did Closing Time quite a few years ago, pretty popular song but not their best. Their best is Singing in my Sleep, etc. off of the same album.

I've been into a weird musical revolution as of late, Celtic/ Folk and a combo of Latin, jazz, folk (a group called Mystic Warriors) and Panflute music (Brad White)- I think I'm getting in touch with my Mother Earth self???

OLDIES, OLDIES, AND MORE OLDIES!!!! Eagles,,,oh yeah. Elvis, Johnny Mathis, Otis Redding, Everly Brothers, CCR, The Toys, Exciters, all the oldies groups from the 50-early 70's. I also listen to some semi-classical stuff too,,,,what some people call elevator music. James Last, Billy Vaughn to name a few. I also like some of the old country...before they went into pop-music. If you wanna ride in my truck,,,,,you listen to oldies.

Yeah Pho, Country today just isn't country, my wife listens to new country but give me Haggard, Jennings and Nelson, that is real country. The Eagles, Elvis, Otis and CCR, there just isn't music like that anymore. I heard someone say on the radio today that music seems to have lost it's soul. When people like Justin Timberlake can put something out and call it music, man that is just a SIN!

Oh yeah Baz....and who could forget the Platters? or Temptations?....Buddy Holly, Eric Clapton. or The Four Tops, The Supremes...and the list goes on and on. As for the old country, Jim Reeves..a man with a golden voice and Eddie Arnold, Chet Atkins, Charlie Pride... Got me in the mood for some good music now...gotta make me a new CD for my truck!
