Tonight we lost Jargon.
Jargon laying on top of lacy,
A short video of jargon dancing for a treat,
Takila took him out front on the leash to go potty, he shook his head and the leash came unclipped. He took off down the street with his nose to the ground, sniffing everything in sight.
He did this once before and just ran a couple laps around the block and came back. Tonight Takila got in the Blazer and went looking for him while Lacy and I stood out front waiting for him. Lacy and I saw him coming around from the alley out back, but he kept going like a rocket down the sidewalk, happy to be free and run wild, doing anything he wanted for the time being. When he got off his leash in front he never listened to anyone. (Out back in the fenced yard he would listen pretty good though.)
Takila came back, we waited about 20 minutes then both of us got in the car and went looking for him, with the spotlight hoping he hadn't gone far. After about hour and a half of looking we came back home. We weren't home 10 minutes and at 9:30 tonight the phone rang. I yelled at Takila that someone must have found him.
It was animal control, they found him. I asked where he was and they said about 6 blocks away, at a busy intersection. I asked if he was ok, then the officer told me that he got hit by a car. I asked if he was ok, The office paused and then told me Jargon was dead. He said he got hit in the head so he died quick. The officer said he would be right over and brought Jargon to us.
I kick my own ass for looking in the wrong direction.
Tomorrow we will take him to the vet and get him cremated. Takila and I will get a special box to keep him in.
Jargon was a show dog the first two years of his life.
We drove 3 hours one way a year ago to get him up in northern Wisconsin, in the snow. the breeder has a bunch of outside kennels that she keeps her dogs in year round, 2 to a kennel, so Jargon had to fight for food and eat fast before the other dog ate it all up. Jargon had life alot better with us, as he had a warm house to live in, a loving family, Lacy to play with, and all the food he could eat.
We will miss you Jargon Juju.
Rest in peace, little buddy.
Time to cry again now.
