Where are these carats you speak of? I've been married 20 years and haven't gotten what amounts to one whole carat of diamonds total. And diamond is even my birthstone.

My mother-in-law accused me of marrying her son for money once a long time ago. I busted out laughing and asked her where it was because I haven't seen it yet.

That probably wasn't my smoothest move.....

A few years ago, at my father's funeral, one of his old friends stood up to say a few words. One of the things he said that has realy stuck with me was that they didn't always have much to say, but it felt good to just sit together. I know my dad felt the same about his friend. At those times their purpose in life was to just be someone nice to sit with. The simplest task yet value beyond measure.
