Took Tami in today to the dermatologist and she has two basal cell carcinoma's. One they removed today, the other will be week after next. The thing on her face she went in for is non cancerous, a cyst that will be removed also.
The bitch of it all? He looked at my hand and said that I have skin cancer too. The same thing. So its not deadly thank goodness, but still its the C word.
Send your thoughts and prayers, we are gonna need them!

Best wishes to you both - my Gran had quite a number of these things removed and she's doing OK so keep your chin up and stay positive.

Just curious, are the two of you in the sun a lot - or do you think it is related to something else. I ask because I'm not too careful in the sun myself.
I'll be praying.

Well first we will take care of Tami's since hers is worse, the one they didn't remove is in the corner of her eyelid. Mine will have to wait a few weeks for more cash. I'm thinking its from the weather here in WA. We get lots of overcast days so we don't think sun screen. But the doc said we still get lots of the bad UV's. Tami was stationed in San Diego for years and Puerto Rico, Mississippi, etc in the Navy so its possible it started there. It just got worse here. Me, I'm from Texas and this showed up about 3 years ago here in WA. So, big time sunblock for me when I fish from now on. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers

I have sent my prayers for you and Tami. Skin cancer is something that realy sneaks up on a person. When I'm out side I think "what could be better for a person". But too much sun can add up to trouble. Take care.

Prayers to Ya! You gotta watch that when you fish- the water reflects back the UV- actually makes it worse- Nothing to mess around with!

Hey Xena...man...that bites. but ya know what the xperts say is, the majority of damage done to our skins is from when we were little. Think of all those times we stayed out too long in the 60'-70's & 80's. THEN...for those of us that had no brain! - we cooked a little longer in those tanning beds! Hell...we even let our kids go in em! My thoughts are rootin for you two!!!
