John Don't know anything about the brand. The pop-up part is cool. I've seen deer blinds like that and they work.
Measures 82 x 82 x 55" deployed. Weighs 11 lbs., 10 ozs Not tall enough to stand up in.
4-man Pop-up Tent Four men in a 6x6x4 1/2 tent better be REAL good friends. ;D
I have a hugemongous Eddie Bauer. It's the easiest to set up I've ever had. Takes about 5 minutes and will hold 2 Queen size mattresses.

It looks like a good idea, but I don't know anything about the brand. I've come to realize brands actually do matter in outdoor equipment. I have a 4 man (okay, 2 comfortable adults after my dog gets inside), 3 season (basically 4 season down here) Eureka that I love. It's probably the best tent I've ever used over the years, and I've used more than a couple. It has the outer fiberglass frame that just locks in place - quick & easy to set up. Mine's an older model, but the Tetragon 8 is very similar. Takes about 5 minutes to set up, if that. Oooo - I just saw a new tent by them I want to have! It has a solar-charged interior lighting!

We have a 4 man tent and it barely holds two females! If you don't mind being cramped and not being able to stand up straight a 4 man would be ok I reckon. I'd go for a bigger tent so that way you have room for your stuff if it rains etc.

good point xena who knows maybe my daughter will come visit some day and we can go camping i like the Tetragon 8 ak but i realy like the idea of being able to stand up for my back like tex pointed out --so hows this deal look, the price seems workable and if i ever have chic here i can fit two people in here without being crowded it would just be me the rest of the time so it will be plenty for me and what ever junk i bring haha www.wildjunglemonkey.com/WJMPROD-28066.html. . . .

Thats not a bad price Sands. If I had my druthers, I'd have my 3 room dome tent back. It had two little sleeping rooms one on each end and a huge room in the center where a 6ft person could stand comfortably. We always slept in the big room and put our gear in the little sleeper rooms. If you have a Walmart or Costco close buy there, they usually have some good deals on tents right about now. Something along these lines...more expensive true, but to me, worth it because I'm claustrophobic LOL www.wildjunglemonkey.com/WJMPROD-34113.html

John-
I'm a believer in buying quality stuff, especially when camping. It all depends on how much you plan to venture into the outback. If you only are planning 1 or 2 times per year then maybe it's OK.
When buying a tent there are things you should consider..... Can you stand up? You already mentioned that and it's a must, especially if you have a bad back!!!!!
How much room? - As others have stated, a X man tent is bull...that means sardine-like fashion. If I was gonna get a tent for myself, I would settle for nothing less than a 4man. Get a tent that allows you to stand AND allows for enough room to put a chair into for getting dressed. I like to have room for my cot, a chair and ample room to move around.
Is it waterproof? - Some tents are not too good at keeping water out during a storm. Make sure yours keeps it out.
What kind of Ventilation does it have? Because you're in the middle of desert hell, make sure you get one w/ lots of windows. Some even have the entire roof made of mesh "windowing" with a separate cover to throw over in times of rain. That method allows for plenty of air circulation and gives you a great shot of the Milky Way.
If I'm going alone, I love to sleep in the back of the truck. It's comfy w/ my queen matress. It's NOT to convenient to get dressed or move around but does allow some warm, comfy shelter when it's most important.
As for tent of preference, I LOVE the Springbars and swear by them!!!! My brother has one and we've abused that thing for close to 20 years and it's still going. They're very much on the pricey side but well worth it if you're planning on using it 5 or 6 times per year. They are a snap to set up ( I set mine up/took down by myself last week in just a matter of minutes.) and are very roomy.
Well, I hope I didn't confuse you in your purchase choices. If you are thinking about getting back into camping, maybe start small and get the one pictured and if it's going well, maybe you can upgrade into a serious model.

gaetz if i go twice a year ill be doin good haha i grabbed this for the az trip i might use it alittle more if my daughter came to visit but if its just me iill be lucky to do the az trip and if i can swing it the woodward next year-- but like ya said if it gets to be a rockhounding habbit with over niters i can just get something more durable down the road and the price of this one was doable right now-- because when i got my last phone they made me give a 150.00 deposit and they just gave me credit on my phone bill hahaha

I really think you'll like that tent. The Eureka's are good quality tents, with no-see-um mesh that actually allows a breeze through. I've been in tents with the no-see-um mesh when even with the window flaps open there's no breeze.
That was a good purchase (in my opinion... ;D )

Just to toss in my 2c's- I have a Sportsman guide tent- they are well made- But not up to the Eureka! level- I do have to water proof it every year (I like that 100% Spray silicon waterproof- Walnut- Brown can with NEON orange lid- I think it might be called wetpruf??) Also one of those POP up shelters (walnut- $99.99 for the 10x10) are great- especially in the rain

A hell Sands Waterproofing is easy- Set up the tent on a dry day- spray it down (just like back in Philly when you used to "decorate" those bridges) and let it dry-
