Well as you know on Feb 14th ( Happy freakin Valentines Day) both Tami and I were diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma.
She had one burned off that day and was scheduled to go back on the 14th of March to get the one on her eye done and a "cyst" taken out of her right cheek.
So we went. They did the cheek and I watched and he pulled a mass out the size of a half dollar, said all was good to go, sewed it up then took the one off her eye.
I got home, had an email that my brother Jimmy had passed away. They ordered and autopsy and then cremation. I'm in shock and depressed because not only can I not afford to go, I can't get time off from work.
So 21 March comes and its the day of the funeral so I'm already bummed and Tami's doc calls at 9:30 and tells us the "cyst" was cancer but not sure what kind. That it will take two weeks for the report. So we are both freaking. Now they have to open up her cheek again and go back in ( she is soooo p*ssed) and she's scared. So am I. What if what if what if...and we have no insurance..how are we gonna pay for it etc?
That's why I haven't been around much. I'm scared for the other shoe to drop since crap seems to come in 3's.
Send us some good vibes, prayers or what have you, we sure could use them!

When it rains it pours... and other stupid cliches.
So sorry for your troubles. I'll say some prayers.

Oh man Lesa, I am so very sorry, you know that both you and Tami are in my thoughts and prayers. Be positive my friend and like my doctor told me, don't worry about the bills, worry only about getting better. There are places you can get help, even most of the drug companies will donate the needed meds for chemo if needed. Don't think about that, just think about getting better!!!

I'm sorry to hear so many ugly happenings gathered around you. Be tough and think positive, it's the most important thing! Take Lance Armstrong as an example (though you'll probably never win 7 times Le Tour)
I wish you only the best,
Adrian

Thanks Cher. Jimmy was one of my favorite brothers. He was the male black sheep and I'm the female black sheep of the family...my sister said it was a nice service. He got his full military honors which I was happy to hear.
Its kinda weird. I'm the youngest of 22 kids ( all half brothers and sisters to me but full, step, 3/4, kissing cousins etc to each other) and I've had sisters die before, but I didn't know them, had only met them when I was a little bitty kid. Jimmy I KNEW ya know? I mean we weren't all that close because of our ages, but at one time I idolized him. He is one of 6 kids my mom gave birth to...and now we are five...god I hate getting old cuz it means all of them are REALLY getting up there. I can't believe he was 62....

Girlfriend...I'm right there with ya.
Mom just turned 78 & since xmas...it's been all downhill. Her health is horrible. Heart & lungs are shot & now other organs are getting worn out. In & out of hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living.
Worst part of all for me, is watching her illnesses take an emotional toll on my daughter. We were the 3 amiga's every Tuesday for about the last 4 years & Becky has the kind of relationship with her Grandma most of us only dream about. (Hells bells...she's more open & honest with her Grandma than I could ever be.) I've had 47 years with my Mom & have had a little more time to come to terms with what's coming...but once I see the tears on my little girls cheeks...then I lose it.
Lesa...God or Budda or whomever you believe in, sets up these bowling pins & our job is to knock em down. I suck at bowling...so I walk up to each one & kick the crap out of it ONE AT A TIME! Hang in there. Sometimes life becomes more better after the fallout...it better or I'm screwed...
