If I remember correctly, a motorcyclist can only "split" lanes, like on the freeway when the speed is going like 25 MPH or less (freeway traffic jam kind of speed). I know someone that did it in Calif. and it was legal, but a person in a jeep didn't like it, so he opened up his door (soft top type jeep) right before this person rode up along side him. This person kicked the door as he went by, as it slapped back and forth on the jeep. Yeah, it would be unnerving seeing a bike some up inbetween the lanes while you're in a car, but if they are willing to risk it, why make it harder for them. If they hit you, they're at fault. But if they're jealous enough that a bike can beat the traffic, why do you want to hurt them? Yeah, there are people out there that don't like motorcyclists and will go out of their way to get them off the road. Earthdog had to lay on his horns this weekend to keep dummies from turning in front of us. Yeah, it's hard to see 3 motorcycles coming at you!
