Don't waste your time with those patato chip cut-off wheels that come in the mini pringle tube, i have yet to find a suitable application for them that does not break more wheels than it wears out. Use these: Heavy Duty Reinforced 1-1/4" Cut-off Wheels instead. The heavy duty reinforced SiC cut-offs are the way to go for sure, i'm still on my first set and i've burned through more than i've broken so far but that was mostly my fault for pushing too hard and letting it catch. Stay at 4/5 max RPM pushing very lightly and keep it striaght, I bet you could get that lock off before you burn your first wheel. Initially you will have to push harder to true up the wheel and score that attack groove in the right place so hold the tool firmly near the tip and keep fleshy appendages away from that wheel because they do cut flesh, bone, veins, arteries, tendons, ligaments and occular anatomy quite effectively. Now you go and show that lock who's BOSS! ;D Oh-ya, if you're getting too much heat buildup you will see an orange glowing ring forming at the edge of the wheel, back it right off for a few seconds as soon as you see any indication of this or things could get ugly real soon. If the resin in the wheel melts it gums up and you guessed it, recipe for disaster.

Woohoo! The lock has been destroyed! 1 $19.99 Christmas Special Black & Decker Rotary tool (that had the heavy duty cut-off discs in the kit!) 1 Master Lock... And I figured out that I was trying to pry the incorrect end out. Yup, if I had been prying on the other side of the "U" I might not have had so much trouble.
