Looking for opinions since my style is so different from what I've seen on here. Afraid the shine on the stones doesn't show as well as I hoped , but I haven't taken many pics of my cabs. I know the red stone is Mary Ellen Jasper (I forget where it comes from). Not sure what the other one is. Someone told me it's Indian Blanket. I just figure it's another one of my PLR's (pretty little rocks). Anybody have a name for it? Now if I can just get these pics in right......it's the 1st time I've tried to do this. Nope, it won't go. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Can anybody help me? Thanks. Jo

Is it hosted on the web somewhere? If it's only on your computer, you have to upload it to an online account like at photobucket.com. Once it's up there, you stick the URL to the image in between the [ img ] and the [ /img ] tags. (The tags don't have spaces in between the brackets. I just put them there so you could see them.)

Once I have photos up on photobucket.com, I just copy the third line under the pic and paste it into my post. Then I don't have to worry about the IMG tags, as they will already be there. Otherwise, what Akansas has told you is also correct.

Okay. Thanks for the help. Think this should work now. Decided to throw one in of Owyhee Jasper too. Didn't intend these pics to come out full screen, but that's how they're showing up when I preview my post. Can I change this? How? Mary Ellen Jasper - Front Mary Ellen Jasper - Back Indian Blanket - Front Indian Blanket - Back Owyhee Jasper - Front Please let me know what you think. Thanks, Jo

Didn't intend these pics to come out full screen, but that's how they're showing up when I preview my post. Can I change this? How? The pictures have too many pixels. The 1st one is almost 600x1200. THi ssite does not resize for display. You may have viewed these pictures on your computer using software that considers pixels/inch (e.g., 300) to resize for on-screen viewing which uses less than 100 pixels/inch. You can resize before uploading using lots of different photo editing software - some free. Or, you can edit/resize in PhotoBucket by clicking the EDIT button. Hope this helps ---- On another point, does your camera have a MACRO feature for good focus of closeups? Most have some sort. ALso, getting lots of bright indirect/difuse light instead of a flash will help with the glare on the silver. SOme folks go outdoors near sunset, I use an inexpensive light tent. There is always something to worry about.

As far as the style I like it. I have seen other wraps like this, and I expected something much wilder after your 1st post.
I personally like the leaner/cleaner bail that you fashion. SOmetimes more elaborate loops of wire are nice, but that is usually distingushed as "sculpted" instead of wrapped.
Did you polish the stones too? What gauge weight wire are you using? DId you take a class or buy a book/DVD?

Thanks for the info. Will go back & resize my pics for next time. Yes, I took a class thru the rock club here in AZ. I use 24 ga hh for my side wires & 22 ga hh 1/2 rd for my wraps. & yes, I work my own stones. My husband says I'd rather do that than eat. I think he's right. I prefer the tailored look because I like the wire to show off the stone, & focus attention on specific features if possible. I haven't been doing this long. Only about 6 or 8 stones, but enjoy it.
Thanks for the input. Jo

Hi JoAnne, I like your wraps. They are neat and really do show off the stone. I have been doing more wire sculpture lately but I really like yours. The Wire Sculpture is easier to do but since I bought some softer wire, I can do the Wire wraps much easier. Time to get busy again. I have seen several on the forum that wrap more like you do. Neat! Just trying to see if I've got this picture thing right now. Here's another of my wraps. Anybody know what kind of jasper this is? Front Nope, still too big. Guess I'll have to keep working at it. I'm sure there's an easy explanation. Just have to figure out how to cut down the number of pixels. Any help? Thanks, Jo Back

aunuts - here's your second image after I resized it in photobucket. Basically, I uploaded the image after saving it from here, then I edited the image to 25% of the original size. You have three options under edit - 100%, 50%, and 25%.

Nice wrap and jasper for that matter. I would guess it a jelly bean jasper but i could be wrong. Your last resort is a simple "Agate/Jasper brecciate" Thanks for sharing!

Thanks both of you. I tried to resize the first ones photobucket, but it didn't seem to do any good. Maybe I just did it wrong. Thanks for helping me out with a name. There are sooooo many kinds of jasper, I don't think I'll ever learn all of them. Bummer. Jo

aunuts - you might have resized it once, and then I resized it again! That large picture just might have been resized!
You can check to see - if you edit the picture now, it'll show up resized on the screen without you having to change your post at all.
And have I ever mentioned that I really like your wraps? The simple, tailored look really works with your stones.
