Here are 19 cabs I made with my slant cabber. I have learned several things from doing these first hand. 1. Ovals are easier. 2. Thicker is better. 3. Finger nails don't last long. 4. Rocks are slippery when wet!! 5. Rocks fly fast off spinning discs!! The first 3 pics are the whole batch. Individual pics follow with the names I know. I thought the red one was a ruby, but it worked up rather quickly and not as hard as I thought rubies were. The green Idonwite came from Bearcreek. I missed a close up of the malachite in the first picture. It really came out nice. Most all the stones have a great shine on them, but the camera missed alot of it. All in all, I believe I did a good job. You experts might see a blimish or two, but I think all of these are wrap worthy. Jamies stuff. Crazy lace / Idon'tknowite Petwood from Louisiana Obsidians Idon'tknowite / Green tree agate Closeup of agate Idon'tknowite / Opalized wood Picture Jasper / Thunderegg Boulder Opal Thanks for looking and any suggestions are appreciated!!! Tonja ;D

Oh My! Those are gorgeous!!!! A most excellent job! Holy $%*&!
I really love the boulder opal and the mossy green agates and the thunderegg, and the malachite, and Jamie's stuff, and the boulder opal (I said that already right, but it deserves a second vote)
I think they're all wrap worthy - heck they're display worthy too!
How'd you like working the obsidian? they're a bugger to get scratches out of - you did a great job Congrats!

WOW! Those are awesome! I've just tried to start a cab of mahogany obsidean (got to get polish wheels/pads). I've had a devil of a time getting a nice dome-you did a great job!

So true, fingernails don't last long when working on any wheels and yes rocks flying off of a disc or wheel are faster than a speeding bullet, at least that is my opinion. Looks like you have a natural talent for cutting stones Tonja, its a lot of fun isn't it?
Very nice cabs....

Very cool Tonja! I love the boulder opan and picture jasper. The moss agate too-really great job on all of them. I am inspired, but alas it will be some time before I will be able to get any kind of grinder. I am doomed to tumble away for the time being!

Wow, nice job on these cabs Tonja. I almost missed this post and I would have been missing some very nice work. Great shapes and it looks like you got a nice shine on all of them. It only gets easier from here on, so keep at it. I look forward to seeing more of your work. You did good with the boulder opals. Glad you were able to use them.

Wow, you've got natural talent for cabbing! I like the tree agate triangle one especially and the boulder opal. You are so brave for trying obsidian and it came out great. Consider dopping if you get tired of hangning onto the rocks with your fingernails. Some poeple like to dop, some don't. It's interesting that you say ovals are easier for you too. To me, they are more difficult than freeform shapes. Maybe I'm just weird, or you have cabbing in your blood. Probably both. Steve
