Well, I finally got to my 10" saw, and found out it needs some work before I can use it. I guess it was sitting idle too long. Oh well, back to the scraps. Uknown blue stone A couple of Chrysocolla Chrysoprase Obsidian. Does anybody know what this is called? Unknown agate. WWR agate 3 Views of a very busy agate. I see lots of things in this one. Fire Agate A very high domed Pietersite-a couple of different views. And an opal with nice fire, a couple of views Gotta go fix my saw.

Hi Ed, yes I know what it is called: a cab. lol It looks like Mahogany Obsidian, although it could be Red (Lace) or (rose) Obsidian. I really like the shape of the cab below it. Nice job on the fire agate. The busy agate is sweet also. Daniel

Once again you have posted a bevy of beauties but my favorite is that busy cab! I see a bird pecking its way out of the stone. Oooo. Oooo. I feel another contest coming on! Uh-Oh. Lady B

Ed - The busy agate has me thinkin' plate tectonics, back when Italy was in between Newfoundland and Africa, and Antarctica hadn't frozen yet cause you can see the azaleas are bloomin'.
Beautiful cab!!!

Ed those are fantastic! glad you're back at work... cabbing You know that opal is beautiful but I have to say, I prefer the peek-a-boo opal that peeks out of boulder opal - kinda like getting a glimpse of a naked body part, it's much more provocative and sensual than seeing the whole naked body (maybe that's just me…) - I know guys will disagree with this statement, but some women I think will agree with me

That's scrap? Most of those stones are better than what I see at shows. The unknown blue and the busy agate do it for me.

All of those cabs are gorgeous, I'd call the obsidian "fire in the dark obsidian". But my fav is the busy agate. It resembles so much with an ancient map, or with a tornado! Are you sure the high dome pietersite is the same cab in the two pics? To me they look to be two different cabs.

Thanks everyone. Maybe scraps is a bad word to use, they are more like broken slabs. Tweetie, I understand what you mean, it's kind of like slit skirts! I was thinking of using the busy agate for a contest, what do you think? Can you guys come up with some names for it?

Beautiful work, Ed, as always. And like everyone, I'm dazzled by that busy cab. I had the same thought as Rich, so my suggestion for a name is "Pangea at Dawn."

I like your idea of scraps! You turned them into keepers.
