Susan that reminds me of last week. Offering a cocktail to a mermaid, you must have E.S.P LOL!

I love the visual poetry; I may have to take up diving; where do you find all these mermaids? LOL. Do they ever swim to the east coast?

My son 'caught' me reading this thread, and I had to explain all the pictures, LOL. I made him read the whole thread. So, he wrote a poem, too. (He's 16)
Here is his entry;
Mermaids r hot Mermen r not. Her teas of jade may be or may not, But I don't care. Mermaids r hot.
I can't think of anything else, Poetry ain't my thing. But that first stanza I got, all because.... Mermaids r hot.

Haha, I'll have to let Matt (the 16-year old son) read the rest of this. Did I mention that I did pay him to finish the poem? I'm a baaad mother. Susan, where DO you come up with those pix? A cowgirl and her six-shooting seals... What a hoot!

If there is a contest for Mermaid Pictures I have some fossil seashells and coral I could donate to the prize pool (no pun intended).

Matt (mermaids r hot) just came in and wondered if he had won. He thought the contest ended today? I told him not to hold his breath (pun intended). And Susan, he did appreciate the 6-gun seals. Thanks for all the fun, Tony! Where else can a mother and son look at boobs together in a good way? (It's ART!! And, it inspired him to write the first stanza of his poem; I had to pay for the second. Money well spent, in my mind. He wrote a decent poem!)

Tony.. I've seen a lot of contests on the board, but you have started the most creative one yet. Who knew that so many people with rocks for brains could write such great stuff. Truly wonderful poems!! Tough job to pick "a" winner.
Thanks for the contest.. Don

Karen, I like how you spentyour time and your money. Matt's poem is more than decent (there's a pun in there somewhere, I'm sure, if you look back at all the pictures ); it's damn good! I hope we do have a Mermaid picture contest, too. Oh heck, I just hope we have another contest. Mine is about to end and Nephrite is on sabbatical. We need another contest! Lady B

Okay. Here goes.. I have to at least try!! lol "Mermaid's Tear" Beautiful dreamer, drifting sadly on the blue She sees the sunrise and reaches out with a plea Her love will never know but her heart aches for eternity She never cares how much she is adored The ocean caress her with tenderness, delusion Wrapping around her, holding her, loving her. She does not feel, the desperate velvet touch Nor does she sense the angry stirrings of desolation Her heart is only with the one who has never known She cries her lonely song And with every tear that falls, The giant sea tears up a storm She lies across the rock Her head lowered in defeat Goodbye my sweet dear.

This has been a very fun contest. I am so glad members came up with very imaginative ideas and photos. Spirtstone, let your ideas & imagination flow. Karen, I hope I didn't corrupt your son LOL! Others were excellent as well. Yes I am putting out another plea for imaginative, anyone Else? ?? Any feedback? ?? Maybe this will close out tomorrow Sunday at midnight. Good luck to all that make the cut. Tony

Tony, no worries about corrupting Matt. He's a good kid, with a great sense of humor. I thought it was such a hoot, after all my parental lectures regarding computers and stuff he shouldn't do and places he shouldn't go. Then he walked in and saw a 'hot' mermaid pix on MY computer screen. Want to guess which pic he saw? Page 3.... So I had to explain (!), and took him thru the thread. He actually wrote a poem! How cool is that? He is 16, nearly 17; his poem started as a joke, then became real. Thanks so much for this contest. We have had a blast! Karen and Matt
