I have no problem helping those that really need help,But since were into the urine tests for a job now days why can`t they have the people picking up welfare checks give them a drug test before they pick up there check,and if it`s positive,no check. Of course people on legal perscriptions,that peticular drug be excluded but not other drugs.What`s everybody think?..Rocky

Hmmmm, good point. I had to take a urine test for the company that I'm with now so that I can earn an honest living. Doesn't really make much sense.

And ;D I might be the only one willing to say it but.. I think piss test's Suck! lol... that and crap like wire taps are just another way Big brother can invade your privacy all the while saying Bend over,and hold down the floor while we control your life..... This is for your own good blah blah blah.. whatever.. treatment doesn't work. unless THEY WANT it themselves..
I agree about seeing some "scum" using and abusing their immediate help from the Govt.... But I also know of the "scum" that are so called pillars of the community, wear their little blue uniforms and are known for using Illegal Mood Enhancers.. and probably only had to take One UIT.. .. What's up with that? lol they too should get tested before each payday and if positive .. No checky checky !!! Do not pass go..! LOL

I think most people can relate to the annoyance of paying taxes that go to drug abusers. But since the point has been raised for discussion, I guess my question is, what are the alternatives?
Of the possible outcomes of cutting a drug addict off their welfare cheques, I suspect the least likely outcome is that they are going to decide to clean up their act and get a job. Much more likely outcomes are more prostitution, robberies, break and enters, drug dealing, car theft, etcetera.
To deal with hardcore drug addicts I really think there is a place for designated government-run drug houses, with needle exchange programs and maybe even free drugs. That would help reduce crime and drug-related diseases such as hepatitis and AIDs. Also, addicts could be weaned into treatment programs when and where possible.
...Or we can give them urine tests and cut off their welfare so that they become even more desperate...

FREE DRUGS? lol now that's every addicts dream come true right there lol.. ;D And if the Govt. is willing to go that far.. then why not just let those who are Willing to work for their habit work.. and let them spend their money the way they want .. I mean if they can maintain and function in everyday society then why bother them... Seriously look at how many "professionals" have addictions, people in Law, Health, Sports, TV.. and the list goes on.... addiction isn't just for the poor or depressed...... it's more common than most people would like to think.. And if you can't get a regular 9-5 to support your habit.. then you end up doing it on the streets with a hustle against the Govt..(like abusing welfare) But!!!! Sooner or later, Those "Thugs" will evolve from the petty five finger discount and gang banging... and will learn the only way around the system .. is straight through it.........I give it a few more years....then..... BAM~ Organized crime the next generation..... lol ;D wonder what the politicians do next.. ;D |

What i was referring to is the fact i get tired of giving my tax money to these people that abuse the welfare system and that includes Doctors too,like: a person picks up food stamps to feed their children then sell the stamps and by drugs and let their kids go hungry. And Doctors abuse the system also,example:this was before i retired.I took my mother to the Dr.
and she was on ss he charged $70.00 and for me it was $35.00 thats for an office call...Rocky

Rocky I understand what you are saying. I get Pissed every time I go to the grocery store and the people in line in front of me has 2 buggy fulls of stuff and pull out the juice, eggs, and stuff and pay for them with food stamps and then ring the rest up and pull out a wad of 100's and pay for the rest. I am all for helping some one that needs it but it has gotten out of hand. I don't know what the answer is but something needs to be done. Keith

Then they put all the stuff from those two buggies into a brand new Cadillac Escalade and drive off into the sunset..
There is a store I used to get my smokes from before the tax went up on them, they would let alot of people buy beer and other crap with the Quest card, Wisconsin's foodstamp credit card. They just ring up the booze as food items.

In Wisconsin, when yo get welfare they can't say anything anymore if you have a $100,000 boat, a $60,000 Jaguar, and your wife has a $85,000 car along with your $800,000 home.
It used to be they wouldn't give you a dime if you had assets like that.

well i hate to say that are government is a little mess up  . but I'm on soc sec disability. and i have to use medi cal to help. well i just got my annual paper work to fill out. well this year i have to give proof of citizenship. OK I'm down with that. but what if I'm not i quote. if you are a us citizen or national you will need to provide the same documents that were required before. nothing has changed quote. to me this seem a little off or backwards mike. PS i have to the welfare office. what i see there is a lot of people who are just trying to get back on there feet. i never have seen punks or druggies or thieves. just sad and feeling helpless and hopeless people mike |

Mike, come to Wisconsin and walk through the county building doors. You'll see blacks wearing new leather team jackets, gold chains, $150 tennis shoes and have the newest phones on the market. Not only the blacks but the white wannabes also will be wearing the same stuff and be wearing their ball cap sideways.
Here you don't even have to be a legal citizen. You don't need a SSI card or even have an address to get the welfare.
