This is an awesome thread as I am in the 500 grit stage of some milky quartz and have a huge lot of rose ready to go.

PS I do have a question -- my rose isn't near as nice as yours is and one rock I have has streaks of what looks like pyrites in it. Should I cut or hack those pyrites out for best results?

I'd leave the pyrite. Inclusions make rock interesting! Just make sure it's pyrite, not mica, which might cause you some difficulties.
